Wow! I found Téta Marie to be exceptional! That chicken schwarma… I don’t think I’ll ever forget it… that spice mixture with the preserved lemon was a harmonious masterpiece. Chicken was moist and tender. I also loved the way the fries were done… crisp in parts yes soft in others, a wonderful interplay of textures. Her mother’s za’atar spice blend… stunningly complex. The baklava was also delicious— crisp and flavorful but not too sweet or mushy. The dishes were also artfully presented. The space was quaint and clean. The owner was so friendly… beaming with pride, explaining everything is home made. It was clear she put a lot of thought into the entire experience. Among the very few Lebanese restaurants that offer a daily dish with a superb presentation and taste. 2 days ago we were there for dinner and I had the chicken and rice dish with a side order of yogurt which was impeccable. My wife had a dish of fatteh with homos which was well prepared, presented and nicely seasoned. For desert we had mhallabieh with rose water and flower water. It was a beautiful end of the evening.
