It was our second visit in a weeks time, first time we loved the food, hence returned again. Our first visit was quiet cordial. The second time, the service was a bit different. The food stayed delicious.
First of all, we wanted a bigger table as the place is crunched up. As an order we had a veg Biryani, in which my friend requested if they could add paneer(to which she would pay the cost to), the waiter was hesitant at first but agreed that he would ask the chef. When the food came, we found out very little pieces of paneer. The bill shocked us! For those few pieces of paneer, without a prior agreement, they charged 4 euros extra, which was outrageously high! The lack of transparency was appalling. We felt cheated, and would never return.
Our second order was a chicken dish which comes with rice. As the waiter asked about our choices of side. I just asked if it could be replaced by naan, instead of rice. His reply was as if we are not paying justly. My question was just an inquiry, I was willing to pay and also asking to not serve rice so that I don’t waste it. But his answer was “it would be too much request” instead of a simple yes or no.. The attitude was unfriendly and very business minded without understanding the intentions, which was unexpected. Overall, the service and the...
Read moreI recently visited Indian Curry in Nice, and it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant’s seating area felt extremely congested, making the ambiance very uncomfortable. The overall vibe of the place was completely off-putting and far from inviting.
Despite feeling hesitant to stay, we decided to order something small out of courtesy. We went with a lemonade and a plate of vegetable biryani. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow—it took around 20-25 minutes for such a simple order to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded.
One thing we appreciated was that the waiter asked about our spice preference, and we requested the biryani to be slightly spicier than usual. However, the dish turned out to be unbearably spicy, completely overpowering any other flavors. It lacked depth and balance, making it unpleasant to eat. To make matters worse, the portion size was shockingly small, which added to our dissatisfaction.
What’s truly baffling is how this place has a 4-star rating. Based on our experience, it didn’t live up to the hype at all. From the cramped seating and unappealing atmosphere to the underwhelming food and slow service, there was nothing to enjoy. I would not recommend...

Quality: A+ Quantity: A+ Authencity: A+
Special mention to chef for making yummy and authentic food - the taste called us twice to his place for dinner 😁.
Service: Iqbal ji and his mate were very gentle even with us as family travelling with kids, which is rare in French Indian Restaurants (saying this from my experience-they start making faces and expressions).
Price: I would not say expensive as it was worth for what we ate. Genuine price!!
Garlic naans were real++, take advice from owner on what to order and he will be happy to let you know about chef's special.
About place/ location: very conviniently located by walk, bus or tram (from promenade de anglais)
