Our group was visiting Nice for 3 nights and tried to come here the first night. We queued up for a table at 8pm and waited half an hour, once we got to the front of the queue we were told the next table would only be available in over an hour which was very unlucky.

Thankfully we came back the next day at 7pm and were seated immediately! I’m so glad we did because the food was ASTOUNDING. There’s a small but varied selection of dishes, with the tagliata being their specialty. We were given some capers before ordering the chicken pate as a starter (delicious, came with pickles which balanced out amazingly), and then all chose raw beef-based dishes.

The beef tartare was the best I’ve ever eaten, and came with some addictive roast potatoes covered in pesto. As a Brit, I would usually be reluctant to order roast potatoes at any restaurant but the three of us polished the plate until we were stuffed. My friends both got the tagliata, which was just as flavourful and delicious. The one male server was a little sour that we didn’t order any wine but the female server was so welcoming and helpful. For dessert we got some tiramisu, which was a huge dollop put onto our plates and tasted wonderful, and the fruit salad which has vanilla and basil and I’m still missing.

The atmosphere was amazing even in the cramped restaurant - there is only one chef who is incredibly talented, and the restaurant is incredibly charming. My friends and I had to stop ourselves from going back another day, we wanted to try everything!! It was such an honour to eat here, and it was so well priced as well.

*One note for the restaurant: the menu said ‘stuffed asshole of bird’, which in English is quite vulgar… guessing this is just a translating error but we got a good chuckle out of it. It’s also quite difficult to reserve a table if you don’t speak French, as you have to phone to book. Thank you so much for the...

We looked up Google reviews for nearby restaurants and landed on this one. We decided to go here since it was rated 4+/5 and boy were we in for a surprise. We were served by the 2 waiters, and they were both very 'pushy' on getting us to order things like 'apperitif" which is a drink before you even get any food. We ordered drinks and entries (for 2 of us) and we were then asked if we were going to order more drinks to go with the entries... even though we just got the drinks. We didn't order any starters and they asked our "you're not ordering any starters?" , we responded "no, we're not really hungry" the waiter seemed annoyed and quick with us. We ordered the Sea bream and Beef tagliata, the fish tasted mediocre, but there was quite a pungent "fishy" taste and smell. The beef was served rare, which is fine as I eat sashimi and rare beef all the tme, but the beef tagliata was very 'chucky' and tasteless, I decided not to finish it as I was not sure if it would make me sick. finally, we ordered the tiramisu. A 3rd gentleman came to serve the tiramisu with a pan, he messily slabbed in on our plate, which was slightly a little unappetizing. Finally, I asked for the bill and the waiter asked if I wanted 'coffee' and 'dessert', same waiter that took my Tiramisu order, which again reinforced that these guys are out to maximize profit and giving off bad salesman-vibes as a result. I also noted that the lady next to us didn't order dessert and the waiter was quite snappy with her. I would not recommend this place to any tourists coming here. Not for the food or the...

This place was recommended to us so we decided to try it. When we first arrived we were told that there was no tables available except for one in the back corner by the bathroom door which had little stools to sit on for children. We sat and they brought a big board with very limited menu choices written on it in chalk, no real menu. We chose 2 meals and both were horrible. The portions were small, the food quality is poor, and the prices are crazy. The kitchen is in the back and is open so the man cooking is visible. As we ate we noticed more and more that he was touching everything, touching raw meat, wiping sweat, and not washing his hands at all. We ordered the quail dish and the beef tagliata and found both incredibly poor. While the meat for the tagliata was of reasonable quality, it was almost raw. I do not mean rare, or seared, I mean like tartar raw. I like beef tartar also but if I wanted it, I would order it. The quail was the exact opposite. Meat was dry and it was super overdone. I saw other reviews in the past that mentioned raw poultry so maybe they're overcorrecting. I ordered one small draft beer and it was 9 euro. All in all we spent 50 euro (no real receipt, just written on a scrap of paper) and left hungry, dissappointed, and confused. I do now understand how this place enjoys such a high rating for the quality. I don't know if it's just a tourist trap or what but the positive reviews must be coming from foreigners that leave good reviews after eating something they don't like because they think "maybe that's how they...

Concerning all good and bad reviews… I read both 5 and 1 star reviews before deciding to eat here, and this is my take on dinner, with the things people criticized in mind throughout my experience. This food was incredible. The service was only very slightly slower than other restaurants around, and they did ask about appetizers and dessert, but we did not feel they were pushy, we just cheerfully told them we would only have room for main courses. We ordered two main courses and a bottle of wine. We got the buratta basil penne and the beef tagliatele and both were exceptional. We paid 23€ for a bottle of rosé, 18€ for the penne, and 21€ for the beef, all extremely worth it. This is our final meal in Nice and may be the very best. The potatoes that came with the beef were arguable the best I have ever had. Overall we were incredibly pleased with the experience and the flavors of everything. Also as a tip, if you feel the beef tagliatele is bland at all, simply add some of the red wine vinaigrette from the table and it elevates the dish entirely! Absolutely incredible for our final meal.

The bad - they said the credit card reader wasn’t working. In the past, retailers tell you this and are usually lying. Not saying they lied, but I really hate being scammed cause we’re not local or French. Leaving this review hoping others will validate or vindicate. Moving on. Food was fresh with roasted quail, beef tartar, whole sea bream, salmon tartar and beef. Beef was tough to chew, but everything else was good. I would skip the tuna salad sandwich next time that we thought was something else. Service was good except for the credit card reader not working. With banks in France adding 10-12% at ATMs, we are down to 4.50€ cash. Everyone else in France has taken the cc. Eating inside, a ceiling fan would help in the summer.
