Delicious traditional nicois dishes in a great location! Artichoke stew was a stunner - we were looking for something with a little less oil after overeating soccas for lunch. For mains we had the gnocchi with beef stew (AMAZING) and the beef ravioli with beef stew sauce (also very good!). For dessert we had the creme brûlée which had orange blossom infused. I would personally prefer the original/ unflavoured and the creme brûlée a little softer but it was still good. The chocolate hazelnut lava cake on the other hand was warm and gooey, crispy on the outside, not too sweet. Ice cream that came with it could’ve been more rich/ premium but was still fine.
Service was adequate - the pace was okay, not fast or rushed, not too slow either. The staff were friendly and gave a good wine suggestion in English. They could have a few more smiles though and it would have been nice if they were open even earlier although 7:30pm isn’t too bad!
Prices were great for the meal by the way. Couldn’t get better for a memorable...
Read moreRude waitstaff. Walked in and waited as there was no workers. Eventually walked through the restaurant to find someone/find a table. Met with a woman yelling at me repeatedly across the restaurant ‘BONSOIR!!!!´ with an exasperated look on her face. I apologized and began to ask if they had a table for 2 and before I could finish she interrupted me and said NO! and was gesturing to the door telling me to get out.

And, to be clear: the issue here isn’t that there was no availability at the restaurant. It was the way we were spoken to. You need to do better. I only left a review because I was so shocked at that woman’s rudeness. Thankfully, we didn’t encounter anything else like this...
Read moreWell. Recommended by our excellent Bike Tour guides yesterday, my wife and I went to this restaurant in the midst of Old Town. We shared the appertizer sample platter with house rosé wine and water. The food seemed authentic and the house wine was, as usual in Nice, good. The samples were tasty, and varied. Problem was that the service was 100 % indifferent. We felt invisible the entire time but had good company in each other. There is a recommendation here in Nice, saying that one should always try to speak some French first. This time, we were caught off guard and went right to our English. Should have stopped by some phrases to get the mood up. We must say, the place was busy, and the waiters as well. But we both felt that a simple explanation of what we ate could have been a good start to the Niçoise food experience we expected.
We might try this place again at some point, since the food seemed authentic and good, but for now, we have other places to try...
