This is the second time i have been let down by this place which sells itself on jovial and reliable Irish styled service. In reality ,my experience is the opposite. I said I wouldn't go back after the last time I asked them to warm up cold coffee (supposed to be hot) and the reply was we don't have a coffee steamer/we do but I can,t work it. Tonight, after my wife persuaded me to go back I went up for a pint of Leffe beer and a half of cider. The barmaid tried to top up a half full glass of Leffe from behind the bar which had been sitting for who knows how long. I refused it and she then poured me a fresh one with the knowing grimace of - fair cop l,ve been caught out on that one whilst happily pouring the stale drink down the sink. My impression is that this place masquerades as a decent place when in fact, it will cut corners to screw over the customer or more routinely, show them little regard generally. This is a great shame, as I am myself a fellow Celt but sadly can in no way endorse what seems to be a bar which is not delivering service in a way i am...
Read moreAs a past customer of Ma Nolan's having been satisfied I am sorry to have to do this but unfortunately there has come a point where the quality of the food offered at a certain price becomes consistently too low.
I ordered a full Irish breakfast and asked politely to exchange the black pudding for some extra baked beans, to which I was told emphatically that that wouldn't be a problem with a smile.
When the food arrived, not only was the majority of it lukewarm at best within a minute, but the baked beans portion was minuscule. I even asked if they had forgotten the extra and the waitress told me that it WAS an extra large portion, which I could not help but laugh at openly. I didn't take a photo but it was laughable to say it was a double portion.
Anyway, it's not just this one occasion that leads me to take my time writing this. In recent years the food is at too high a cost for poor quality. A beer, why not. Avoid the kitchen if you don't wish to be...
Read moreI don't know if we visited on the Barmaid's (French lass) off day, but the service was pretty poor. We had to go up to the bar to ask about the menu & then after getting the menu, she took a while (good 10 mins) to come back to ask if we wanted drinks before ordering. There was no air conditioning until the Barman (Irish guy) arrived on shift later on & I overheard him aplogising to other customers who had arrived & explaining he had just put it on (we were sweating for an hour before he arrived!). When food arrived it was OK, but not as good as the meals we had at the other Ma Nolan's in the old town area of Nice which was excellent. Barmaid forgot the cutlery & condiments so we had to ask for them. OK experience, but as we had been in to the other Na Nolan's and had amazing service, utterly was a surprise. Barman literally seemed to be doing all the work as service vastly improved...
