My recent visit to Maranna's was a delightful culinary experience, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on the dishes we ordered: the French Toast with Avocados and Grilled Halloumi Cheese with Honey, the Breaky Burger, the Chicken Bacon Burger, and their unique iced tea.Starting with the French Toast with Avocados and Grilled Halloumi Cheese with Honey, this dish was a revelation. The French toast was perfectly golden and fluffy, providing a sweet, pillowy base for the creamy avocado slices. The grilled Halloumi added a delightful squeaky texture and savory note, elevated by a drizzle of honey that brought just the right touch of sweetness. The combination was bold yet harmonious, making it a standout for breakfast or brunch lovers looking for something unique. The Breaky Burger was another hit. Packed with crispy bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and creamy avocado, this burger was a flavor powerhouse. The ingredients were fresh, and the bun held up well against the generous fillings. It’s a hearty, satisfying option that’s perfect for those who want a breakfast-inspired meal with a bit of indulgence. The Chicken Bacon Burger was equally impressive. The juicy, well-seasoned chicken patty paired beautifully with the smoky bacon, and the fresh toppings added a nice crunch. The balance of flavors was spot-on, though I would’ve loved a slightly bolder sauce to tie it all together. Still, it was a delicious and filling choice that didn’t disappoint. The Iced Tea was an unexpected twist. I anticipated a classic iced tea, but Maranna's version leaned heavily into a lemony flavor with a prominent mint kick. While it wasn’t the traditional iced tea I expected, it was still refreshing and enjoyable, with the citrus and mint creating a bright, zesty profile. It’s a great choice if you’re open to a more herbaceous and tangy take on iced tea, though it might surprise those expecting a standard brew.Overall, Maranna's impressed me with its creative menu and high-quality ingredients. The service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the food and drinks came out promptly. I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone craving inventive comfort food with a fresh twist. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreFirst writing a bad review, but they tried everything for one. That had availability and we were seated straight away. No one came to take our order, so I had to go to the till to order and was told there would be at least a 20 min to take our order, because they were busy. Not to cook. To take our order?! This made no sense to me. Being busy is understandable, however before seating us you would inform us and tell us that wait times are longer than usual and get us started with drinks at least. They didn’t do that either. Thus, I asked can we at least order drinks while we wait and the lady at the bar said sorry and showed me four orders at the bar and said I’m really busy you’ll have to wait to order drinks too. I was so confused. It made absolutely no sense. I could understand a hospitality venue being busy, but you could inform us before seating us. If you are seating us, i could understand there being a delay in receiving our food, but not even being able to take our order?? Not even drinks too?? After that, they realised I wasn’t happy and came to take our drink orders.
On top of all of that, the food very bland. How hard could it be to cook scrambled eggs? Has to be the worst scrambled egg I’ve ever had. Ordered a flat white. It was larger than a latte? If I could I would give a 0 for the food and service. Only got a two because of the decoration and...
Read moreDisappointing from start to finish.
I am more than happy to wait for a table, but after a 15 minute wait, to then be sat down and have zero service for another 15 minutes, for the waitress to then come over and instead of saying ‘sorry for your wait, what might you like’ she simply said ‘what do you want?’ and clearly wanted to be anywhere else.
Our food then arrived way before our drinks did and not only were the poached eggs cold and overcooked until they were rock hard, but the mushrooms were also cold. We had almost finished our food by the time that our 1 coffee, 1 juice and a plastic bottle of water had arrived. Food wise the prawn and crab brioche was very tasty though.
Not once did anyone check on us, I had to find salt and pepper from another table and noticed other tables around us also getting their food way before drinks arrived.
There needed to be minimum 2 more staff working and when we went to pay, again there was zero care given as to ‘had we had a good time or pleasant experience…’.
I genuinely wanted to tell the people waiting in the queue outside not to bother and until there are the adequate numbers of staff I would not return or...
