We found Le Saint Jean to be the best restaurant experience during our 2 weeks in France. The view from the patio was beautiful, the servers were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful (of note when we speak no French), and the food was fantastic. We chose the hummus with caper berries as a starter and it was excellent as were the main plates. I had questions about the preparation of the cod with a chorizo crust and our server took me through it step by step. My husband had octopus stew and he wiped his bowl clean. The wine list was chosen by the servers and the rose' we had with our seafood dinners was, again, the best we had while on this trip. We were sad to learn we cannot buy it in Canada. We were visited by the owner of the establishment and were happy to share our experience. If we are lucky enough to return to this part of the world we will look forward to another meal at Le Saint Jean.

The key here is to eat downstairs in the much more refined setting with old stone walls. Upstairs a small bar plus outside seating when it's not cold. Very good tuna tartare and Chevre chaud salad, and Fresh Dorade fish. As usual, I find the cheap Rhone wines by the glass to be great, as long as they're not cold -- and these weren't. Very nice. Great server. You can reserve a table but in the off season it wasn't really necessary, at least around 7pm (nice that you can eat earlier, not usual for most French restaurants. I decided to go when I read about the head chef going to Les Halles the wholesale food and fish market on Saturdays and we went on a Saturday night. Definitely recommend.

Great place to visit for a lunch, especially if you can get yourself one of the outdoor tables. Really nice team of people that clearly know what they’re doing and are running an excellent operation. We were served by a lovely lady that had moved over from Australia and she made our experience great all round. The food at this place is really quite impressive - we had the chicken Caesar and could not find one as nice for the rest of our trip. The pizzas also looked great although we weren’t in the mood for anything too heavy in the heat. Great music playing for the whole duration and all round a really nice find, will be sure to make this a regular lunch spot on future visits to the area.

Very disappointed with this place. The location is the only good aspect here.

My friend and I were made to wait 5mins while two waitresses completely ignored us!

When they did bother to speak to us they led us to a table and rudely advised us no food was being served (in such a mean tone). We were ok with this as we only wanted drinks.

When we looked on the menu we saw the coffees we wanted and when we ordered (again after a long wait) we were told they don't offer any milk alternatives (and before we even asked more questions the waitress turns around and speaks to her colleague about something else).

Very unpleasant experience with them and I do not recommend it! We found an amazing place next door from them where the people were kind, educated and welcoming!

I wouldn't bother ever entering this...
