The waiter tilted down his nose when I ordered my steak medium rare, scoffing that they only serve it medium rare. Fair enough, good policy and maybe he was just having some fun at my expense, no matter. When my shoe leather did finally show up it was well done and I am still not completely convinced it was the advertised filet it was pretending to be, highly condensed and seasoned newspaper I quietly wondered. I did not however send it back because we had waited nearly an hour after our first course and our semi light lunch was fast approaching the 2 hour mark. I was willing to chalk it up to bad luck but when asked about dessert my girlfriend replied in perfect French that we didn't have time and we had been there long enough. Not as a complaint or indictment, just as a matter of fact, in a we'd like to be off to the beach on this glorious day kinda way. Just the check please monsieur... which then came flying at our table landing with a thud as monsieur left in a tizzy. Moments later we heard him loudly cursing us out from the kitchen (a good 15 meters away.) As we were leaving not much of a tip but indeed leaving we heard him sarcastically telling a another table we must have to go back to "work," (no one in this area has to go back to work unless they are manning a private yacht.) This was not just apathetic service, this was completely insulting service that he and his coworkers accept as the right way to treat people. There is nothing redeeming about this place other than the charming harbor it sits on. Avoid Brasserie la Goelette, as any of the other resturants lining the pier would be a...
Read moreThis restaurant has amazing serving staff and has a great view, with good food as well. Our server Fové, was very nice, friendly and she was helpful making our meal even more enjoyable. At the end of our meal we meet a young man named Ilan, he was very kind and he helped us with the bill.
I had the special of the day: the octopus paella and it was great and deep flavor and generous amount of octopus and other seafoods. My parents both had the sea bass and loved how it was super fresh. My sister had a cheese burger and liked it.
The staff was very friendly and happy to help. The fact our sever Fové also spoke English was great as well since my mother and sister do not speak French and I am only proficient, typically my father will do all the talking and asking the questions because he is fluent.
Overall a really great restaurant and awesome staff with a good...
Read moreThroughout my stay in France, we are out 3 times a day for 2 weeks and this was not only the worse place we ate by far, but amongst the worse places I have eaten ever, anywhere in the world.
The food was horrible. The oysters were girtty. The mozerella salad was bland and no flavour. The Fillet Mignon was the toughest piece of meat I have ever had in my life and trying to cut was so difficult that the entire table was shaking when I was trying to cut it. The seafood risotto tasted like sea water and had a salty watery taste, horrible. Deserts were.... Let's just say I have had better frozen desserts from local supermarket.
To add insult to it all, the service was horrendous. The waiter seemed so annoyed he had to serve us. No manners at all. I couldn't wait to leave this place.
Honestly, one of the worst places in the world to eat. Do not waste your money...
