Bad service. (I went with my 4 months old baby and my husband visiting from Australia. I’m local but first eater in that place.) They need to hire more people. No one welcomed us at the entrance to take us to our seat. We walked to our seat. No one gave us the menu; I went to get the menu on the counter. 10 mins sitted, the waiter came to take our order, she did mentioned we are to wait awhile but couldn’t give me an approximate time so we said it’s ok. We ordered a “Trio de thon” and the “entrecôte miel foie gras”(something like that) We waited 45mins while 2-3 other tables were served before us and yet we ordered before them. Her response to that was we’re waiting for the hot meal. My response was “just bring us the fish meal while waiting then”. My rice was not shape neatly like the other plates around. I told the other waiter (a guy this time) Ey copain, my rice pei does not look as nice as the other ones. His response: iii it broke, did you want me to do it again?. This guy tho I felt tried to pick up the service where it wasn’t done properly. at the end he said thank you for coming and acknowledged us. Next thing is the cutlery on the table. The other waiter which I saw is also the dishwasher person, brought us the cutlery and 2 different kind of cups but did not give us the napkin. I had to ask her for it. The table next to us received their meals before their cutlery and they had to ask for it. My sashimi was only 5 pieces of fish and what was under it were a bunch of carrot slices. The Tartare wasn’t pleasant. The poisson cru tho was ok. My husband was also disappointed in general. You should have seen the size of his entrecôte non mais oh la even the steak in roulotte is bigger than that seriously!!!!! He said he’ll never come back again. I wish I can post the photos I have but I can’t see the option for it on my phone. On the other hand, I enjoyed the sweet music, & the sashimi sauce. First and...
Read moreAte teriyaki chicken with a blend of sweet potatoes fries and taro fries (a sort-of root vegetables commonly found in Polynesia). you can call for a reservation, we did it for 5 persons. Place is clean. Noisy and crowded. Food is clean and tasty A little bit expensive.
Le Nom-Nom (food) :
The fries were an interesting alternatives to the classic potato fries. As far as taste is concerned, sweet potatoes and Taro added sweetness to the plate. They compensate well-enough with the salty taste of the teriyaki chicken.
The taro fries were too firm in my opinion, something I woudn't recommend to someone with brittle (fragile) teeth, I had a bit of difficulty cutting them into pieces, someone could easily choke if not sufficiently chewed.
Teriyaki chicken was cut-clean when served. Moist by the teriyaki sauce. Flavour was just flat, of course you would expect the usual chicken:meat flavour and that's it. A bit boring by the end of the dinner.
Place :
Crowded and noisy. However all the commotions took place downstair, where as the restaurant is above, first floor. An escalator is nearby so you can go there without worrying about paying a doctor for a leg or thigh surgery.
Naturaly lit with some unnoticed artificial lights. I wonder how well-lit it is during cloudy days.
Oh man I gotta go cause class is...
Read moreWhile shopping in Le Marché Municipal in Papeete, Tahiti, we were looking for a place to dine within the indoor/ outdoor market, there are several choices to consider, from takeaway to sit down. We made our way to the upper level of the market and found a restaurant that was opened to the outdoor breeze and plenty of seating. We were promptly greeted and seated. We had a friendly person who brought us a menu and drinks, the menu was enticing and we found two items that whet our appetite, a local board and a full board, we chose the local board, OMG! The local board was amazing, it’s a Tahitian Ban Chan, so many different servings of fish, pork, cheeses, 3 kinds of tuna, cold cuts, fruits and the freshly made donuts, this easily feeds 4 people, we ate it all and we were 2! We look forward to visiting this restaurant...
