I still find myself astonished as I write this review by the quality of the cuisine in relation to the substantial bill I received for my solo dining experience, particularly noting that it did not include any wine. The Cassoulet, touted as their special, left much to be desired in terms of flavor and seasoning. It essentially comprised a pot of pinto beans and meat, which, given its price point of €36, raises questions about the culinary expertise behind its creation of blandness. One might wonder whether the chefs responsible have had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art of gastronomy. Proceeding to the appetizer, the Pate lacked the expected depth of taste, and the dough crust appeared noticeably aged and dry probably because it’s been in the fridge for a while. The dessert, a Paris Brest, suffered from an excess of sweetness, primarily attributed to an overly generous application of caramel sauce. What compounded my dining experience was the waiter’s inquiry regarding leaving a tip upon settling the bill. This even conflicted with the establishment’s menu, which clearly states that the gratuity is already included in the exorbitant pricing structure.

My wife and I visited this restaurant on one of our two days in Paris while on our honeymoon. I was very excited for the food here after seeing that it is recommended as Bib Gourmand on the Michelin guide. This was a case of the food saving the experience and the service severely hurting it. We were brought to our table after showing up about 10 minutes before our reservation, which was nice, but then our server seemed angry or impatient for the rest of the dinner. I understand that not knowing the French language can cause barriers in communication in a restaurant like this, but I definitely feel like it was much more than that based on the service we received. On the food though: all of it was pretty incredible and the portions were generous. The Veal Blanquette was so comforting and delicious, and the scallops were amazing. As many other reviews state: the service severely hurts the experience a patron receives in this restaurant, which is a shame because the food is amazing.

One of my best meals. We took the 3 course menu. I ordered the pâté, cassoulet, and caramel soufflé. My partner ordered the snails, the cassoulet, and the cheese platter.

The snails were quite nice, and eaten rather quickly. The pâté combined beautifully with the marmalade and was simply divine. One of my favorite starters ever. My only comment is that it came rather cold, and was much nicer once it warmed a bit to room temperature.

The cassoulet was absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, one of my favorite dishes to date. It was very rich and hearty, with an abundance of different meats, as well as a fat rich texture. Perfect for a cold Parisian evening. We received 3 different meats, out of which my favorite one was the pork rib - it, combined with the fat and beans, was like a nugget of heaven. I am sad to say it is extremely heavy due to the fat and the beans and red meat - so while your stomach might beg you to stop your brain just keeps wanting more.

For dessert, my partner and I had the caramel soufflé and cheese platter. We both thoroughly enjoyed the soufflé which was airy and fluffy, but were not fans of the cheeses chosen by the chef. They are good cheeses, just not to our taste.

All told, it was an exceptionally, extremely and superbly tasty evening and i enjoyed each and every bite and moment. I believe 45 eur per person is appropriate and below what i expected for the food and service.

Lastly, the ambience was nice. It was neither loud nor quiet, and the service was prompt and quick.

As a note to the restaurant-the portions were huge. We both like eating but could sadly not finish everything even though we ate until we could barely stand. For the cassoulet, I would honestly have been happy with about half the size for...

That's a good example of how service can kill the cook's result....I believe that all the waiters should have a bit of training on basic things like how to welcome the guests, how to open a bottle of wine and most of all how important is to give the right information. We asked the waitress if we were going to pay extra because the price of the menu was cheaper than the price of the main course itself, and the answer was no, everything is included in the price of 39 euros. In the end, we had an extra amount of money that we had to pay in the bill ( a plus 22E in total ), as you can see on the receipt. The sound of the wine corks in all over the restaurant was embarrassing, and the fact also that they almost put the corks inside their noses after opening every bottle. I could also suggest that they should show the label to the client before. The atmosphere had some issues that made our visit unpleasant as well. A heavy smell of mold in all over the building can be understood if you consider the fact that the building is so old, but I think that is too much for a restaurant. Our clothes also brought that smell from the sale to our house. Although it could be a four star review because the kitchen almost saved our night with this pate en croutte and of course this amazing cassoulet...bravo!!! 👏 I was a little bit more disappointed also from the kitchen because the deserts that looked great were tasty but not...

We had somewhat high expectations for this restaurant, given that it was recommended in the Michelin guide. Our waitress was very friendly and spoke perfect English. We decided to order the 38 Euro 3 course set menu for our family. For appetizers we had: Herings and potatoes, Assorted pork cuts (charcuterie), French Pie w/ Foie Gras and Duck, and Burgundy Snails. The Hering was probably the best, and the snails was the most disappointing (lacked flavour and snails were small and tough). For mains we had: Roasted scallops with black rice (bit of an odd combination), Risotto with green asparagus (bit too much butter), French beef rib eye (cooked nicely), and Cassoulet (huge portions, could feed 3 persons, but lacked much depth and tasted bit too simple). For dessert we had: 3 cheese plate (like another small meal with more salad, but the cheeses were not of anything too interesting), 1000 puff Pastry leaves cake (excellent!), Tart Tatin (mediocre), Souffle (cold in middle and mushy). Overall the meal had very generous portions, but the quality of the cooking and taste of the foods we had just didn't match our expectations of what we would expect from a Michelin...
