booked a 3 night stay with you from 16/12/2022 to 19/12/2022. When we arrived at the hotel we were very disappointed and not happy at all with what we had paid for, which was €348.30.
As soon as we arrived we were a bit deflated when seeing the dirty worn down stairs/carpet leading up-to our room. When we entered our room we were taken back by how small it was. It was generally a box room with a bathroom attached. Moving on from this, we had noticed several parts of the room to be unclean such as the bathroom window ledges. Holes in the wall along with ripped wallpaper. The windows had lots of condensation which was obviously causing the mass amount of mold/damp below. We were very shocked to discover this as it must have been there for a while and difficult to understand why no one/cleaner wouldn’t have acted on solving this. In addition to this we found that the bed was sunken in the middle, when we had taken a look under the bed we had noticed a massive rip/hole through the middle of mattress causing us both a discomforted sleep. The shower only had hot water on the day we arrived and the rest of the time we had to shower in cold water, pushing a button every minute or so to keep the shower on. My partner and I are average builds/body types and it seemed there were two very small towels that literally just wrapped around us both which is not very accommodating.
On our last day of our trip, we were relaxing when a sudden ‘fire alarm’ sound went off. It was of course extremely loud as I would expect it to be for a case of a fire. Except after becoming extremely panicked and ran down the 5 flights of stairs, along with the rest of the hotel. We had then been told that it wasn’t a fire alarm and that it was just a technician who was testing/ fixing the electrics. I feel as though it would have been good customer service to inform your guests that this was going ahead rather than have the whole hotel rush to reception with extreme...
Read morePROS: To my surprise the previous bad reviews that I read were very wrong about this hotel. I rented a private room, so I can only inform you about that type of experience. It was very clean, they provided a hairdryer, the staff spoke excellent English, and several other languages. They always have someone at the front desk, even late at nights to help accommodate you for checking in, just in case your flight comes in late at night, or early in the morning. People sometimes forget that the culture in France is different, so what might be considered rude over here in the U.S. may not be considered rude in France. For example the lack of acknowledging you immediately when you go to the front desk, in their culture you’re supposed to say something, and understand if the staff member is on the phone and will pay attention to you when s/he is finished. Discussing, debating, and asking about politics is also considered a normal conversation in France, so the culture is very different from our own over here in the U.S.A.
CONS: To be honest I didn’t like how tiny my room was, and I got a private room. If you’re traveling with someone else, be prepared to be much closer to that person than you may have planned. There was also only one available electrical outlet, so if you’re renting a private room, I’d suggest bringing either a power strip along with your electrical outlet converter, or a plug with multiple USB ports with your electrical...
Read moreThe place is quite shabby and very noisy. This is not a Boutique Hotel as claimed, as boutique usually means small AND upper market. Rooms are very old and furniture in a very poor state (at least #10, one double bed + single). The desk was half in ruin, and the closet was an old gym metal closet repainted (also half destroyed).||The place is not soundproof, you can hear everything. Walls and ceiling appear very thin. In addition, I don't know what is wrong with the plumbing, but you can hear everything that is going on upstairs (the pipes vibrate). I sleep like a log usually, but I had trouble there.||Breakfast is very minimalist, that is the best I can say about it.||Internet ... what I can I say, it reminded me of the times of modems with 24K speed.||Some positive comments though.||Staff is VERY nice. Well the hotel staff, because people at breakfast, forget about them as well ... rude like a Parisian waiter.||The hotel is located near Place de la République, along the canal. Location is nice. If you want to run/jog, just turn to the right when you reach the canal, and you can go North up to La Vilette museum. After 2-3 km, you'll get to a place where you don't run next to cars, quite nice in fact.||I paid 120€ with an early booking,...
