Lets start with when you walk in. It's cozy, its tight, everyone feels like they are happy to be here. the succulents on the window add just a little green. Then you start to notice the street art, the paint cans. lovely little place.
This is the only place i've found in paris to have honest to god buffalo anything. the buffalo pizza is absolutely perfect. it absolutely demolished that little bit of homesick i was feeling for that flavor. i'm considering going back and begging for a jar or bottle of the sauce. jesus christ, do you have any idea how HARD it is to find buffalo sauce in Paris? i mean, i get why, its so far outside the Parisian pallet, its usually just so vinegary, who would want that? well a midwestern white boy wants it. he is down so bad for it. i would do anything for just like, 1.5 cups (358 ml) of sauce. i mean anything. i'm not joking. ANYTHING.
if you're american and miss NY style pizza go here. paris has a LOT of good pizza places that aren't trying to be american style and many of them are excellent, dont get me wrong, i'm not digging on them. however, this place has the NY slice down to a gosh darn artform.
i was ready to sell my soul for buffalo pizza in paris, turns out i only needed to spend 16 euros (my keyboard doesnt have the euro...
Read moreLet’s be honest. I absolutely love Sonny’s. I’ve been a loyal client for years and as a New Yorker living in Paris, the pizza has has diligently served my cravings for thin crust slice shops that I love and miss.
I went to Sonny’s on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised that there was space (70% capacity). Oddly, each table had no food. As I sat down, I was told there was an hour wait for pizzas because someone on Uber Eats had ordered 20. I was offered the option of pasta and chicken tenders as an alternative…
As a customer, I find it disappointing that the restaurant would favor online orders that take 20% commission over in-person clients that take the time to enjoy the walls, service, and atmosphere that makes eating out special.
I encourage Sonny’s to review its commercial approach (offering some free starters while people wait) and think long and hard about what it means to favor experience over soggy scooter deliveries. If the oven does not provide capacity for mass online orders, delay those orders until a new oven is installed. Use your staff that you pay monthly to provide an experience to service clients that take the time to support...
Read moreThe pizza at this place is awesome for Paris. I’ve come here a few times now. Every time I had it, the pizza is superb. So when I came to try the Brooklyn pizza the times said they were open was 12:00 to 22:00. My group showed up at 18:30 and they told us they weren’t ready to seat anyone until 19:15. So we came back at the time told to us and every seat in the restaurant was full and already being served with a line out the door. Just sucks being lied to like that or else I would give it 5 stars. Maybe another time they can do better.
Update: came back two days later at 15:00 to try to eat again. They said the seating was closed and they weren’t going to serve any pizza until 16:00 when again the advertised time for opening hours was 12:00...
