Aux Dés Calés 17 — Restaurant in Paris

Absolutely perfect evening. We were hoping to find something authentic and genuine and we could not have found a nicer, more welcoming place. Auguste, our waiter, was fantastic. So friendly, helpful and we had a great chat. The food was excellent, very reasonably priced and the atmosphere was spot on. We visited on a Monday evening and the place was full, but didn't feel overwhelmingly busy. I couldn't recommend Aux Dés Calés enough. It was a genuinely delightful Parisien experience. After being in Paris for a few days, we hadn't found anything anywhere close to how wonderful this place felt. All of the staff were so friendly and genuine. If you are in Paris, this is an absolute must for anyone looking for an authentic, comfortable evening. I used to come here everyday when I lived in Paris in 2016. It was my go-to neighbourhood spot - great food, great ambience, great location. Eight years later, I decided to pay a visit to Paris, and of course, a visit to Aux des Cales was mandatory. I have to say, it is still as charming as I remember it. The food just as great (if not better), the waiters kind and attentive, and the ambience as feel-good as I remember. I will be back - it definitely won’t be another eight years until I visit again - and a visit to Aux des Cales will be at the top of my list. If you are unsure about a visit to this gorgeous bistro - do not. You should absolutely visit. You won’t be disappointed. An absolute delight this evening! Our first night in Paris, and I thought I’d treat my mum out to a lovely dinner. We were able to alert the staff ahead of time of my mother’s four allergies in the reservation online, and they were able to provide both an English menu and an allergen awareness menu. The wait staff were all very friendly, and served us in English (after hearing our terrible French). We tried our best with our French, but their English was much better. Our server gave us a lot of attention to make sure my mum could have a pleasant meal. We even had a good laugh together. Not only this, but the food and the wine was stunning.
