ONE NIGHT IN HELL
This is the worst case of false advertising. I checked in for an overnight stay on my way to London, got here 2 hours ago and I can't wait for daylight, so I can get out of here.
My room is small and filthy, unlike the photos posted on Booking.com. I am allergic to dust mites and despite my best efforts to air out the room, my allergies are killing me. When confronted about the discrepancy, the receptionist claims that "they can't take pictures of every room" and "if I had specific room preferences I should have stated it in my booking"... I PREFER BASIC HONESTY!
If you are going to stick me in your unrenovated attic, don't advertise pictures of your renovated rooms! On top of this, the internet is unsecured and so slow that even the most website links keep timing out.I can't get any work done The receptionist also refused to give me the managers name so I can lodge a compliant. I also blame Booking.com for not doing due diligence about the state of this property...They claim that they can't change my room because the hôtel is fully booked..
I cannot make head or tail of the positive reviews online. How do they decide which clients get the crappy room and which ones get a decent room? Why doesn't the hotel have the same standard across all of their rooms? My pictures of this room prove that there is a case to be made for false...
Read moreSo don’t pick this hotel if you’re looking for smart accommodation with bells and whistles. This is a one star hotel and that should guide your choice.||That said, there is very much to like about Avenir Jonquière. It is a two minute walk to the metro station at Guy Monquer and that line, busy though it is, takes you right into the city so it is so easy to get around. Reception is open 24 hours so no problem with late night returns when you’re in town seeing the lights.||The hotel is old, let’s get that clear. Rooms are small but not tiny, bathrooms are small, showers are small and there’s no air conditioning. Many have found the noise an issue. It is certainly very noisy in the street outside late into the evening and very early in the morning. I was lucky enough to arrive after the heatwave so I had my windows open during the day and closed them at night and it was not too hot to sleep. Blessing.||If you want breakfast you must order it the day before but it is very nice and good value at 6 euro. For that you get a hot drink, orange juice, yoghurt, a croissant, a generous piece of baguette and butter and jams. It is a set serving.||The best thing is the price for what you...
Read moreVery weird hotel! I booked a room for me and my mum for her bday. I booked 1 month in advance. Booking was confirmed and money were pending to be sent. After several days, I`ve got an email, that my card details are not correct, and payment was declined, I have got 2 more emails like that within 2 days, every time I confirmed with bank that everything is alright . Afterwards my booking was canceled by the hotel... I called them, asked if they speak Italian or English, he rudely replied in french that ONLY FRENCH ONLY FRENCH, I tried to explain on french that it is not correct, my card is sufficient with money and I have never had problems with any booking, why did you cancel me? He said - what can I do, sorry, bye, and the conversation ended. Then my bf tried to contact them, they were angry that we bother them again, and that decision is made, they have new guest for this room already!!!ahah! Please never cooperate with these people!Hotel seems really nice, but stuff need to be...
