Bistro Championnet — Restaurant in Paris

We dined once in this bistro / cafe and we were lucky to have a nice staff that evening. The owner or the male waiter allowed us to sit where we wanted. Cafe was almost empty inside. Most of the people were outside. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. However, our second visit was a disaster. Their waitress was extremely rude and we were not welcomed and not allowed to sit at the same spot that we sat last time in absolutely empty cafe. We left without having any dinner and decided not to come back again. There are plenty of restaurants around. So this place lost. Regardless of some good reviews of that restaurant, their owner needs to make sure that his / her staff is well-trained and is behaving politely and welcomes people with nice manners, not just locals, but and especially foreign tourists, who might be not speaking French well. Otherwise, such rude behaviour kills all good impression...

I have not left a poor review anywhere before, but this place is so poor I am moved to leave a review. They do not care for the well-being of their customers. Keep away. My friend went out of her way to detail her severe allergy of onion, explain the implications and check this bistro was able to be accommodated - the manager came and said they were happy to accept the order and reassured us that the chef has been advised. The food arrived with the ingredient in the sauce! The manager asked us to leave - as we were trying to cope with my friend’s allergic reaction! Now, three weeks later, there are still health implications for the lack of care for this place! The worst...

Super clean, friendly staff, excellent bartender, great service and last but not least: this is what you should expect from a true French Bistro in the year 2023. Quality food, great taste, nice products, fresh. We had Oeuf with mayo, a classic one and it was exactly how it should be. Sirloin steak (I asked medium-rare) was a beautiful piece of meat, great taste, excellent. And so were all other dishes (hamburgers, salads etc). Nice IPA beer, we loved the chocolate mousse and the crème brûlée. If you are in Paris and you want an excellent bistro experience definitely go to Bistro Championnet. Close to Montmartre and for sure...
