I love to eat in restaurants, I’ve been to around 30 countries with all the different cultures but this has been the worst customer service experience of my life. First the seating: the restaurant was half empty and even tho we asked to sit us elsewhere by the window the waiter squeezed us next to other people right in front of the entrance. He came back 1 minute after we sat down and asked us to order now, which we weren’t ready to do especially because he got us the french menu even tho we were clearly not french. Then came the starters, a ham plate whixh was nice the baguettes were fresh. We didn’t get plates for ourselves to eat on until we asked. He came to us mid eating and told us to look at the menu now so he can take our main order which still we weren’t ready with as we told him 5 minutes before this happened. No change of cutlery between meals, we asked for cheeseburger as he came back 3 times (in 3 minutes) and we didn’t have a proper chance to look at the menu so just went with something basic and he brought out a burger without cheese and said oh sorry I ordered you a different one. The burger was really plain the meat was not mixed in the patty you could clearly see the lines going up and down just like it came out of a Tesco ground beef package. I was still chewing my last bite when he came to collect the plates, no questions asked no thank you no goodbye. This man should not be working with people,...

We popped in here on our first night in Paris as it was near to where we were staying and from apperances looked quite nice. Walking in we were quickly seated and the (initially) friendly staff took our order.

Unfortunately, it went rapidly downhill from there, the onion soup had little taste beyond the cheese, the escargot were quite tough and dry. After this our plates were whisked away and within a minute or two our mains had arrived. The reason for this was the dishes had obviously been prepared a lot earlier than they should have been. My partner's Duck confit was dry, tough and fairly unappealing, the potatoes had been ket warm long enough to go from cooked to that weird rubbery thing they do.

As we were hungry, we ate the meal but we were not planning on tipping, however upon being present with the bill and handing over slightly over the correct money, the waiter suddenly demanded we tip. Honestly, I was tired enough that I gave a little more to get out the door.

It's rare that I leave a bad review, but in this case, I would not recommend eating...

The service began okay, and the setting seemed promising. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short in ways I hadn’t expected.

Although we had chosen indoor seating, my dish arrived with two dead bugs in it, and a live one flew directly into my bottle of water. I understand that insects are sometimes unavoidable, especially in summer, but what made me uncomfortable was the lack of understanding when I politely asked to change an unclean utensil… a small request met with visible irritation.

Because of this reaction, I didn’t feel safe or welcome enough to raise the issue of the bugs in my meal and water. When the staff noticed that my plate wasn’t finished, their annoyance made me even more hesitant to speak up.

I also left the restaurant with several insect bites and minor hives on my hands, which surprised me, especially after dining indoors.

I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, and I truly hope this was just an isolated incident a bit of bad luck. But based on this experience, I cannot recommend...

This bistro has a great spot just across the street from Gare de Lyon. We were staying in a nearby hotel so we stopped in for a quick lunch before we headed to the station to catch our train for the south of France. We grabbed a spot on the sidewalk - the best place to eat in any cafe anywhere in Paris, IMO! As a railgeek, this was a meal with a view since I could gaze at the train station. The service was typical of Paris - efficient and effective. However, this was probably the best salad - the bistro salad - I have ever had in Paris. I am generally lukewarm on Parisian salads. As an American, I generally find them fairly bland, with unfamiliar ingredients and insufficient dressing. None of that applied to my bistro salad. It had a tangy dressing that was perfect even though it did not drown the greens and other items like an American salad. My wife also seemed to enjoy her caesar salad as well. Very well done and I would not hesitate to eat here again!

Came here starving after a flight into Paris from Nice. Fish & chips and fish filet were pretty good — nothing terrible but also nothing to write home about. The service, however… When asking the server if they had any soup (I’d been looking for french onion soup or something similar), the waiter replied with “Japanese soup?”. Given that I am Asian (albeit not Japanese), one cannot help but feel that this interaction was pretty racist and completely unnecessary. Additionally, it took asking a different waiter 3 different times for the check to finally be able to pay. This was all around 3pm and the restaurant was very quiet, so I’m not sure why it’d be this hard to pay?
