I have read the reviews and surprised to see positive ones with respect to the staff. My wife and I visited very recently and were not impressed with one of the three members of staff who was sitting eating and drinking. He was loud, arrogant and drunk. He was having a conversation in French with a customer, who appeared to be a friend also, and we clearly heard the friend say in English “those F**king Irish” to which the member of staff roared laughing and repeated the statement before they went back to speaking in French. He then left the table to adjust the sound system for the live act and continue with some bar work. I approached to buy another drink. The staff member became verbally aggressive towards my mother for not teaching me to say please after asking for something. He continued to insist that I say please like a teacher to an infant. I asked if he intended to serve me. He said no and suggested that I leave, which we did. The owners/interior designers gave some consideration to the fabric of the structure but failed miserably in generating the friendly, warm hospitality to convince visitors that it was indeed a traditional Irish pub. They should reconsider keeping this particular member of staff as well as reconsider the character requirements of future staff they intend to take on at interview stage. The pub set up as it stands is an insult to the Irish and should be boycotted for...
Read moreI visited Paris in May 2014 and this pub was a great spot to sit back and enjoy similar to back home in the States. I have visited Paris four times since 2002 and each time it's a lot of fun. As an American it isn't easy for me to always adjust to different day-to-day lifestyles and this goes for any big city and especially Paris. I learned thru the years to adjust quickly otherwise, a vacation to Paris or anywhere in Europe and London becomes a burden. Having spent a year in Iraq, I know how to adjust to different places quickly and now I just go with the flow. Having said this, on my fourth trip to Paris and the Montmarte area, it was beyond my expectations to run into Corcoran's Irish Pub. It wasn't there in 2010 on my last visit and to have a pub similar to what I visit back home in Michigan was a real treat. It's a treat because after eating and going out every night, having a pub to visit that is like back home takes some of the stress off me and I can sit back and have fun. During my visit on this particular week in May, on Friday night the pub has a small band which was very good. Also I sat and talked with the American and English staff which helped me feel at home. Nice place, good food, and the drinks are not anymore expensive than that back home here in the States. I look forward to visiting again when I return to...
Read moreWe had just come from Ireland and was expecting Irish hospitality and the same tasty food we had in Ireland. After seating ourselves we had to go to the bar to get a menu and to order. Whilst waiting for our food and drinks we had little black bugs flying around us. I looked to the ceiling and there were a whole heap of black bugs stuck to the roof - the place needs a good clean. The food came out ..I ordered the Irish stew. It was boiled meat in a watery broth, not very enjoyable. My husband wanted the stir fry but was advised it would be at least 45 minutes so he chaged to chicken wings (entree) and fish and chips (main). All the food came at the same time and my husband didn't finish his as it was not enjoyable either. We left the restaurant and within 5 minutes we had to race back to our Hotel as the food went straight through my husband. Not a very enjoyable...
