A decent enough location for a couple of nights beside an interesting, pretty chilled, hipster-ish area of Paris at the base of Montmartre and therefore walking distance from loads of little cafes and bakeries, organic foodstores etc. There is a lovely playpark for children just a street away. You are also 5 mins stroll from rue le pic which obviously means it's also handy for Montmartre sights-I don't personally like the tourist trap at the top of Montmartre but away from the giftshops and busloads of swarming hordes at the top the lower areas are still great. We had an apartment for four with a garden terrace. It's very well equipped but lacks Aircon- the fans don't really cut it. The lifts are absolutely terrible, the service level is mediocre and impersonal, the breakfast looked awful- just don't order it ( we'd been forewarned thankfully and had breakfast at a gorgeous organic bakery less than 2 mins walk away). I normally prefer either family run places or more upscale hotels but we left it too late to book and took a punt on this place. I'd have given 5 stars because of the price and big rooms but lack of any real staff service let's it down. The public areas are like any other middle of the road business chain hotel but the rooms are definitely well above average for a 3 star place- esp. in Paris . I'd definitely stay again in the autumn or winter on a good deal but not when it's hot or at full price. Our room was otherwise excellent for what we paid. Place de Clichy metro is about 2 mins walk away. It's bland, functional and full of chain pubs/ restaurants etc and really not that interesting but the neighborhoods away from the boulevard are really lovely. Some other reviews I think mix up the very mainstream place de Clichy with the other end of boulevard de Clichy/ possibly even are thinking of even further away porte de Clichy. The area is city centre lively but very mainstream cinemas/ bars/ Starbucks/ McDonald's/ Irish pubs etc around place de Clichy. Didn't see or experience anything seedy. It's commercial and tacky but not at all dodgy. The other end of the Boulevard beyond Blanche is the scuzzy bit- the further you go towards pigalle which is several blocks/ metros away is different. Even that's fairly staid these days. Okay so this wouldn't usually be my first or even second choice of an area to stay in Paris but it was great all the same and we discovered some really cool streets and places we hadn't...
Read moreMy husband and I spent 11 days in the hotel, both of us working in different spheres in Paris at the time. The location for my husband’s work was ideal and the idea to be in a small flat attractive so that I could have a home office, plus we could also easily visit with friends in the hotel. The hotel and flat is simple, rudimentary - not as charming as this picture. I doubt I would return. ||The good news: the bed is comfortable, the location for public transportation great, access to great food on Rue Lepic - unique. The rooftop view is to die for and fantastic to hang out on when warm. The staff is friendly and try to be helpful.|To be improved: though the kitchen has lots of dishes, cutlery, etc, it also has a dishwasher, for example, but plates too large to fit. You can boil water, but there is nothing in which to make coffee; luckily I packed a french press. The bathroom is nice, but it takes at least 5 minutes to get water flowing at a relatively constant temperature, with the knob feeling perennially stuck. Mounted on the wall, the hairdryer is rather old - and when I dried my thicker hair, within 4 minutes the hair drying plastic head was so hot, it burned my hand. I bought a travel hair dryer instead. The lighting in the main room is meant for moody lighting; it is never bright in the evening, impossible to read at night, etc. The TV screens are not particularly large as is usual in hotels these days, and the stations are all French. The WiFi is good, though sometimes seems overloaded with too many streaming in the building or something. Our biggest surprise was that the room is cleaned once a week! But there are no cleaning materials in the flat, not even a broom. The guests can bring the garbage to the basement themselves. Breakfast could be a redeeming factor, but it is the poorest I have seen in a long time in a hotel. Scrambled eggs that don't taste like they were made from fresh eggs, the most limited meat & cheese offer. Luckily the surrounding area is replete with delicious boulangeries and fromageries-enjoy breakfast in your own...
Read moreWe stayed in Citadines Montmartre for 6 nights in the first week of March 2022 (monday-sunday). Upon check-in at 15.00 we had to wait for around 30 mins before being able to enter our room, because unfortunately it wasn't ready yet. The first room we got had a weird vibe to it, some cobwebs on the ceiling and a damaged tv. Next to that the window that gave a view on the cemetary nextdoor did not fully close, which gave a huge window draft. We decided to ring the reception and kindly ask them for a different room, which we got.
The second room we got immediately felt better. The 'Studio' room comes equipped with a bathroom, living/bedroom, kitchen and seperate toilet. The kitchen can be used to cook dinner without a doubt, which we did for four out of the seven days we spent in Paris. The equipment in the room is a bit outdated, for example the TV and in the bathroom.
We had a bit of a scary moment on the third day of our trip, when we came back to an open door after spending the entire day wandering in the beautiful city of Paris. Around 10.00 in the morning that day weekly cleaning knocked on our door and would like to clean our room. We were just getting ready to head into town and left so they could start cleaning our room. When we came back in the evening around 18.00 our door was not shut properly by staff, and it must have been open the entire day, which we could not believe. Unacceptable, maybe the staff needs some (re)training. Absolute hotel-running basics. Luckily all of our personal belongings were still in the room.
We parked our car in the underground parking offered by the hotel, which was good. We payed €110 for a week of parking. The parking is only accessible via the hotel itself using a hotel parking card.
Location of the hotel is great, price is ok. The nearest metro-station is a two minute walk and there's plenty to see in the area. Because of our unfortunate experience with Citadines, we won't be booking...
