I recently stayed here (May 2023) as a solo female traveler visiting Paris for the first time ever. I knew little French and nothing about transportation, neighborhoods, what was nearby or how to get around. To say I was intimidated was an understatement. This was a last minute trip, booked 4 or 5 days before my arrival and this was the one hotel that didn't break the bank (I paid around 420 Euros for 3 nights). The hotel sits right above the Indiana cafe, with the entrance on the Rue de Douai side. It is a small boutique hotel with around 30 rooms or so. The rooms are tiny (welcome to Paris!) but very clean. I had no view, but did not care at all. I spent very little time in my room. When I returned at night, the bed was one of the most comfortable beds. and I got as good of a sleep as I could (the adrenaline was flowing!). The bathroom was spotless and the water pressure in the shower was great. The hotel is located right near the Place de Clichy metro and bus stops with the bus 30 route going steps from the hotel directly to the Eiffel Tower. This made my first visit really convenient and easy to dip my toes into the transportation system without getting lost on my first day. What really stood out though was the staff, Aurielle (Ariel?) as well as Alain, the other gentleman who also worked there were above and beyond helpful and both have been there for quite some time (I think 7 years). Not only did they speak very fluent English (which I was NOT expecting - after all, I am in Paris, not NYC) but they gave me so much great information about the area. They are truly the pride of this hotel and the reason I would stay here again upon my return to Paris. I arrived around 7 am. Aurielle stored my luggage and showed me to the breakfast room. For a small fee (11 Euro at the time of this review), you can have breakfast before heading out and there's a bathroom in that room so that you can freshen up if your room isn't ready (mine was not nor did I expect it to be at 7am). They have various cheeses, eggs, meats, croissants (!!), coffees, teas, juices, etc. It was a great spread and while I didn't utilize it for the remainder of my week, it was nice to have that option upon my arrival. On my second day, I purchased a Navigo pass and Alain helped me by giving me scissors and a glue stick so I could attach my picture to the pass. I was blown away by their ability and desire to help me out. It made me feel so comfortable that I could truly do this trip on my own. Back to the first morning though. Not only did she remember my name when I returned from a day out around 3pm, she actually went to check to make sure my room was cleaned to hotel standards before giving me the key. It was very much so and I was happy with the room. It was bright and provided a great rest for the remainder of my time there. Contrary to other reviews, there was absolutely zero street noise. At night there was some noise from people coming and going in the hallway, but nothing other than a passerby or a random door shutting. It would have never disturbed my nights' sleep. The only thing to keep in mind, is the lift is very small and it stops between floors, so once you get to your desired floor you will have a few steps up or down, depending on which floor you are on. If you have mobility issues, this may be difficult. There are a bunch of restaurants and cafes nearby. Les Saveurs de Batignolles is right up the street and has incredible croissants for 1.10 and beautiful, tasty desserts. Le Wepler is a French style brasserie across the street with delicious bread and escargot. Chez Papa around the corner and up the street was also delicious. Sacre Coeur is 3 stops up on the metro and a short walk. Overall, after reading a few reviews I'm glad I didn't follow them and formed my own opinion because there will always be one person who doesn't like something. I was so grateful that I found this little hidden gem of Paris. Merci beaucoup!! -Julie in NJ, USA

Had the most wonderful stay here. We picked it because of the previous good feedback and it's all true. All the staff are fantastic. Friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you to everyone, especially the night porter who was so kind, and especially for my birthday chocolates. So generous. We had room 64 which is on the top floor and had three windows and a great view of Sacre Coeur. It was quite spacious by French hotel standards with a relaxing chair and footstool plus lots of surface areas to put your stuff. There is also a fridge in the room, but we didn't need that. Excellent heating and Air con too if you need it. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a brilliant location for Montmartre and also south of there, walking down to Opera and around the 9th. Lots of brilliant restaurants if you walk down the hill. Check out Gegeor and Lucette Fait des Crêpes, both excellent. There is a bus outside the hotel which takes you pretty much anywhere in Paris, (inc Gare Du Nord in 15-20 mins). Breakfast was quite busy on Friday/Saturday but the rest of the week was pretty quiet. The ladies who run the breakfast room were helpful. Good selection of items. Would definitely recommend if you are a female traveller on your own too. Thanks to everyone for our perfect stay. We will return.

I stayed two nights here. A small but comfortable hotel. Nice room with good aircon, immaculately clean. Breakfast is fine, with plenty of choice and all you can eat. All the staff, both on reception and in the breakfast room, we're friendly and helpful. Great location in the Montmatre district, close to the Metro statio, and so easy access to all the sights in Paris. You are close to the Moulin Rouge, but, more importantly, if you walk up the hill just after the Moulin Rouge you will find lovely cafes and bistros, including the one used in the film Amelie. If you want a base in Paris, offering clean, comfortable accommodation, then I would recommend the Contact Hotel Alize Montmatre.

My review for this hotel is 3 stars. I don't want that to be taken negatively, for a 3 star hotel it didn't exceed expectations. You could say it reached them. This place is just fine. I would stay here again. Its good to freshen up and sleep. I wouldn't stay here if i planned on staying inside all day. For its location and comfortable bed it is perfect. If you need more than that, well, thats up to you.

I also want to comment on how nice the staff were. They were lovely and did a wonderful job looking after us.

The bathroom is how i judge most hotels. This bathroom was not very pleasing. The shower head was broken, most of the holes worked but it didn't stay up right or in the position you wanted it in. It mostly would point down or to the left or right. It was uncontrollable and loose. At one point the bathroom flooded. I believe because the head was broken but unsure if there was a leak as I was unaware of any reason for the shower head pointing downwards to cause such a flood. The staff (who were all lovely) had maintenance on it right away while we were out and did fix the shower head for the rest of our stay but couldn't say what caused the flooding.

The towels and toilet paper arent great but just as youd expect. Most of the bathroom was covered in limescale and some mold. The sink and bath tub had dirt in the porcelain which wouldn't come off. The hairdryer worked some of the time and was covered in thick dust as was the extractor fan. On a more positive note there was a free shower cap, soaps and shampoo&body wash. I did not use them so cant comment, but they were supplied.

The bedroom was good. The TV worked and the bed was very comfortable. There were spare pillows in the wardrobe which also came with coat hangers. The wifi was good. There are multiple sockets around the room. A kettle and free coffee and tea and a free 500ml bottle of water supplied daily. The air con worked. The sounds of paris are quieter at night but to be expected.

The lift is small. Its worth mentioning if you have brought a lot of luggage, or are a particularly bigger person you may have to take multiple trips(or the stairs). We just about fit as two average people with 2 cabin suitcases. It was a squeeze. Ignore the clanging sound. It happens everytime. Ignore it. Dont think about it.

The location is very good. Extremely close to place de clichy metro and a McDonald's if you're looking for a home comfort. Pharmacy is also near for anything you may have forgotten or need. Very easy to get around when...

DO NOT book this hotel. The gentleman on reception when we booked this hotel mislead us into thinking we had breakfast included in our stay. He said we had breakfast on our booking, and didn’t mention any extra costs. We went down for breakfast on two occasions to make the most of the ‘included’ breakfast. The breakfast itself was absolutely awful, which included a few bits of bread, some dried apricot and, a few pieces of cheese and a plate with a couple of plain pancakes on, both days we went down and had two coffee and a slice of bread because the options were that awful, do not refer to the photos of the breakfast room as they have photographed fruit and pastries which you definitely don’t get. When we came to check out the new gentleman working on reception tried to charge us €50 for the breakfast which I simply refused for being mislead and for the standard of the breakfast, he was very rude and was not listening to what I was saying. In the end after back and forth the gentleman said not to worry and not to pay, by which point we left and took our luggage as we didn’t trust that they would give our bags back if we didn’t pay later on. four times since leaving the hotel have FRAUDULENTLY tried to charge my card which is completely illegal. The first time being 5 minutes after we left , twice later that day and another time today. Luckily I cancelled my card to not allow this to continue. Do not stay at this hotel unless you want them to use your card details to try charge you without your permission after telling you to not worry about the charge, all due to a fault on their end, I have never been more disgusted by the treatment by the staff at a hotel I have paid for and I don’t want anyone to have the same experience I did. On top of all of this the hotel room itself did not match the standard in the photos , the blind was broken, there was dirt dripping from the windows. The room could only just fit a...
