Read moreBeautiful place but be prepared for huge crowds of people. The crowds made it difficult to appreciate the beauty & working artists work that is displayed. I don't think the atmosphere is what it was years ago as there's no way you can just sit quietly & soak up the feeling of the place. The climb up the hill by stone staircases is quite manic & can be unsettling as you can't really stop & take a breath. I did see a small tourist train so that maybe an alternative & mad cab drivers do go up there.
