Hippopotamus Steakhouse — Restaurant in Paris

One of my worst experience ever in a restaurant chain. The service was extremely slow. We had to easily wait 45min to be served, even though there were very few customers.

Price wise? Not sure what happened, but it's more expensive than some well rated bistro.

The only advantage they used to have was unlimited side and sauce, but we didn't had that opportunity at all. They were saying only one side dish and one sauce. What is even the point in ever coming in this chain then?

Food quality? One of worst for a steakhouse I've had in a while. I had the trio steak (280g), with some pomme au four that they didn't have anymore, and a chimichuri sauce that tasted so bland, a piece of paper would have a better taste. That's not the only problems, the steaks were cold when they arrived and didn't had any meaty flavour that you're supposed to get in good quality meat, meaning the quality of the steak must have been extremely bad, which is not a big surprise if I'm honest. Yet they are selling those pieces as premium meats.

Also, avoid the meat skewers, as the meat were chewy and had lots of tendon within it.

Service : the waitress was straight up not happy, extremely slow and was not welcoming at all.

Overall, 0/5. Needs a full staff renewal and quality control from HQ, or better yet, just close. Would be much better without these bad...

Where should I start. Let’s begin with the size of the ‘establishment’ and the amount of people in there. First red flag, 2 story restaurant with 6 people in it. Should tell you enough. Medium prices but very poor quality. Shi**y to say the least. First of all, we were welcomed very poorly by a clearly irritated waiter who could not hide his annoyance on his face. We are here to spend MONEY, why tf does your face look like you don’t even wanna do your job? Didn’t say hello or anything. Just hanging around being Negative. Secondly, dinner was straight TRASH. I got burned ribs the size of 3 inches and a (very dry) ‘chicken’ leg that clearly belonged to a baby chick. Also no sides. Only after I reminded them and sent back for the ribs. My other table guests got THE driest overcooked 2 inch steak with something you can NOT call sides. Just lettuce, not a Salad. At third, we cannot get passed the very rude behavior of the waiter! Just sighing and being extra annoyed with normal paying costumers that wanted something to eat on a holiday!

Do not come here. The staff could not care less about you. I was staying at the attached Remix Hotel. I was having a beer waiting for my wife to come down. She joined me at the table and we waited. No service. I grabbed a menu off of a table beside ours. We decided what we were going to order. We wait longer. No service. There is hardly any other customers here. I tell my wife we may be able to get service across the street. She agrees. She gets up to go to the bathroom. I have to waive at the waiter to get his attention and i ask for the check for my one beer. He nods and acknowledges. Then he just stands there behind the bar doing nothing. My wife gets back and im tired of waiting so i just leave. I thought to myself that i’ll just pay later. As soon as we walk outside they come running after us for me to pay. Well what do you know!
