Best coffee in Paris, hands down. It's worth going to la Villette just to have a sip of this perfect coffee. Really, make the trip and try it out, I have yet to find a better coffee in the whole city. Best cappuccino ever Why are you still reading? Go there and try it out Also their salads are amazing Really, go Come on Are you there yet? Did the gods of fire and coffeebeans deliver your soul from agony yet? Have you replenished yet? Rejuvenated? Felt the only reason to be alive? That drop of God in a cup? This cappuccino will keep you going even if you're attacked by mice and stinky smells in your house for weeks, trust me, I've lived through it. This cappuccino kept me from throwing up my skirt and running back to mommy. Really, this coffee is ridiculously good. Matter of fact, it might seriously be the best cappuccino I've ever had, and my dad has been brainwashing me to appreciate coffee religiously since I'm twelve. Probably if I take him here he will extend his trip with a day just to taste more of this coffee. I should probably warn the staff to stack up on beans. No really, if you're still reading this through all of these lines, than our tastes must certainly be similar enough for you to trust me when i say, go there. Really go there. This cappuccino will be the epitome of my religious pilgrimage to the harsh realities of wintery La Villette to the religious site of kaffeebar. It's that ridiculously good that just the taste memory is keeping me going writing these lines. Really Go try it out, if you appreciate the roasted bean you will not be disappointed. I will forcefully put a stop to this review now, because if I don't I will keep going on about this cappuccino so long google will run out of storage space to keep the data of these lines. Really go Oh, they have OATMILK! Really nice ones And muffins And cookies And more stuff it's awesome Sorry google cloud you will be dragging down and falling down to earth And you're welcome google cloud because you fell down and now you can taste this cappuccino After the cappuccino google cloud will float high and bright once again and I will fill it up with more lines about this coffee so it starts slagging and dragging down again, take a sip of the coffee and repeat. Maybe we'll solve the energy crisis with this process? Who knows? Drink this coffee and anything is...
Read moreI feel compelled to write a review because I see that Rhonda F left a strongly-worded review today, which is an accurate reflection of the cultural lens she occupies, but does not offer much acknowledgement that cafes in France ask their guests to move, or sit in certain areas, in order to accommodate maximum patronage at peak hour. This is not because we are foreigners, or women, or are disliked in any way. Small bistrots and cafes simply cannot survive unless their space is used efficiently. In what is usually an inconsequential application of 'liberté, égalité, fraternité', patrons do their best to help out. They understand this is how we can keep small businesses alive and work together for the common good. Rhonda is correct that the cafe went silent. We are not used to seeing patrons stand up and yell at staff when a simple, polite request has been made to them (and in this case I might add, a polite request offered in ENGLISH in a remote part of Paris). We are also not used to a patron standing up and pointing angrily at stranger enjoying his lunch and demanding that he should have been asked to move instead. Perhaps this is why it can be hard to translate the concept of 'art de vivre'. It is more about fostering an atmosphere, than following the rules. I wanted to respond to with a review because I was a normal everyday person enjoying an excellent flat white in this tiny, intimate cafe when i witnessed this event happen on a Sunday afternoon. There was much shuffling of seats after Rhonda's departure, as people attempted to return to reading their books, or talking with loved ones, or simply enjoying their food. Much sympathy was offered to the barista because we could see the cards were, frankly, stacked against him. Kaffeebar is a treasure in the 19th. In terms of people, food, coffee and music, you couldn't find better. Be that Berlin,...
Read morePlease read the other one star reviews. The male barista that works there is a complete chauvinistic misogynist ashtray! Im a polite lady in middle age and he actually told me I had to move from my two person table to share with a group of people working together, because two younger ladies walked in and needed to sit together! I held my ground but was a bit shocked by the whole situation. He made a huge scene and the two girls left and he told him he was sorry but had first told me that I had to leave and that it was not a question. I finally fought back and said no, that it was my right to stay and then I realized there was another table with one man and why didn’t he ask him to leave! the whole place went silent, and they all knew he was wrong! This place deserves no respect! I feel I was completely discriminated against because I am single, female, and my French is not perfect. This is not OK!!! Please don’t support places who support this type of treatment to any...
