I was looking forward to try the brunch at Kafkaf but it was not as great as the reviews described. We were expecting a chill brunch but we left within 30 minutes because it was painful to stay inside the restaurant with all the noise.
We visited at 10h30 on a Friday so the place was not full but yet it was already very noisy with loud background music. The tables were really close to each other (we had to move the table each time someone wants to get in or out). We sat between 2 couples, and we were able to hear everything on both sides. Bref, the environment was just not conducive.
In terms of food, I took the spicy eggs benedict which was pretty good. Instead of poached egg, soft boiled egg was used. Bacon was not too dry, hollandaise sauce wasn't spicy but still good though. Just wished there was a small salad on the side as I saw in some of the photos.
My partner took the avocado toast and the bread used was inedible. It was too hard, so he only ate the toppings and left the bread on the plate. The couple next to us also said the toast wasn't good.
That said, the service was really fast. We got our mains within 5 minutes. Decent variety of savoury and sweet mains. Prices are within the range in Paris. Decor is cute and the staff were friendly.
If there's better noise management and perhaps less tables squeezed into the space, we might re-visit in the future because I'd really like to try the pistachio french toast. However it seems like the restaurant is focused on turning over as much tables...
Read moreVery disappointed experience!! Over priced and tourist trap !!
We are neighbors of the restaurant Kafkaf. As we see many queue every weekend ,my husband and I decided to try it during the week day .
Modern decoration and friendly staff . However the waiter served our plates to the table next to us. After 5 minutes, he realized he made a mistake, and he went to take back to dishes and directly served them to us .Our neighbors didnât touch the dishes however they were talking and taking the pictures for few minutes . For the hygiene reason ,we asked him to make new meal then we saw the waiter went to the kitchen talked to the chef . They made us a new pancake but sadly they pretended it to make a new Benedict Egg but it was the same one they already served another table because we saw it !!As there were other customers and we didnât want to make a scene so we just accepted it.
The egg Benedict was over cooked and the egg was hard. The pancake tasted really floury and we couldnât finish it .
Generally it is over priced and the dishes are not as good as they promise in the comments on the internet. The staff are friendly but they need a proper training . For us it is a restaurant for tourist. Anyway we didnât see any other locals like us there .There are many good restaurants in the area and unfortunately we donât recommend this restaurant to anyone even without the incident of...
Read moreSo, after 2 tries, the third one was finally a success đ I heard a lot of hype about this place and maybe thatâs exactly what played a bad joke on me
But letâs start from the beginning. I shouldâve waited about 40 minutes for a table for two (and while a winter time it wasnât easyđ„¶), but I was ready for this because, itâs always like this here. First of all, I want to mention delicious coffee that I had (an oat milk latte) đ«¶đ». You have a very good barista.
My date had a black burger with salmon, Iâve tasted it and it was very good. For myself, I choose eggs benedict with bacon. I love eggs benedict and ate it a lot of times. I didnât understand why the sauce was so sour, it dominated all over on other flavours I need to say that all portions are very generous! (maybe even too much for međ )
Then, we shared fluffy pancakes with pistachios and berries I donât know why theyâre called âfluffyâ because theyâre more like normal pancakes (and not the Japanese fluffy pancakes) đ€·đŒââïž But it doesnât mean itâs wasnât tasty! In my own opinion, it was a bit dry and hard to eat, Iâd change the cream and would make it a lot more liquid or add a coulis of berries
Well, I had my expectations, which were created by the hype, and was a bit upset about something My impression is very bittersweet, if I can say so
Thereâs cons and pros, itâs up to you...
