ENGLISH VERSION I started with a kombucha flavored with fig leaf to quench my thirst: a finesse in the mouth followed by a MARINATED BANKA TROUT Citrus salad and grilled buckwheat then a SADDLE OF ROASTED LAMB Chickpea cream, green asparagus with olives and yellow lemon (I didn't see the lemons, the chickpea puree goes very well with the saddle of lamb cooked crunchy on the outside and almost rare and the crunchy asparagus also: a treat!) finally I I tasted a delicious Morbier cheese. All accompanied by a glass of wine from the southern Rhône coasts...FAULTLESS Flawless in the kitchen, the wine and the service without forgetting the dishes, the ART DU QUOTIDIEN has: the art of good, the art of beauty (decorative items), the art of detail (bill/check given in a pocket book I loved) A discreet but efficient team in the dining room, talented cooks. Better than a brasserie, cheaper than a classic restaurant If you come to Paris for the Olympic games it is the place to go ,nested between the Arch of Triumph area and a Montmartre area not so far from the beautiful Martin Luther King Park and the famous Monceau park you will enjoy a delicious meal and a lovely stroll.
Read moreI went to that restaurant because of the high review rating it has. The starters we took were average because they lacked seasoning. My main course was so bad that I couldn’t eat it. It had no taste and felt like eating a smelly sponge, not a fish. My sister ordered meat (medium) and she had to send it back to be cooked a bit more because it was still bloody. I told the waiter that my dish didn’t taste good and that I didn’t want it and his reply to me was “it is not nice to say so”. The receipt came including the plate that I didn’t eat, I paid and left and will never go back. We had a family with 3 kids sitting close to us, kids running around, parent changing diaper on the couch, baby crying, so overall not the restaurant atmosphere that we were...
Read moreThe woman at the bar sat us very well after we’d been on train for half a day. We were hungry and thirsty, and each picked a meal but first we wanted a glass of wine, a glass of beer, and some bread/cheese to tide us over….but the waiter cut us off mid order “nooo we are a bistro…you cannot order bread and cheese..” So we got up and left, checking into our hotel, and went back for dinner to order the same thing this time reversing the order, and lo and behold…zero problem. That’s what happens when one assumes, but you’ll notice I’ve left out any description of the food. When we return next year I pray for a new Kebab takeaway on the same spot.
*arguing with reviews isn’t a good look, but my schizophrenic cousin is...
