L'Atalante — Restaurant in Paris

This incident happened on the 24th of October evening. I am a regular client at this bar and I am shocked by the service I received tonight. Please provide me the contact of the owners of the Atalante as I feel impelled to share my deplorable experience with the two managers/servers at the bar? This review will be mostly focused on the server that has a strong built, with long hair attached in a bun and a full long beard, that I will name X because he refused to give me his name.

The incident happened today; I had my family visiting from Canada and I was excited to share with them the artisanal beers that I know so well at l’Atalante.

I arrived at the bar to be faced with the impeccably rude service of X. First off, he did not want to serve me at and , although, I was there first insisted on serving the person after me. I asked to be served and he proceeded.

I felt immediately uncomfortable and shocked by the brusque and brutal tone his voice acquired…Being a regular at the bar, I asked him if we could try the fruity beers that the menu offered (we were three).

My guests are in Paris for just a few days and I was excited to make them try the specialties of l’Atalante.

He barely poured any beer in the glass for us to try (there was literally just a layer of foam and we could barely taste it) then he snapped the glass on the counter as if deeply irritated by my asking.

After a couple of rounds of this back and forth, at this point, I spot his colleague beside him (who also has long hair, a goatee, and was much thinner) and I ask him to serve us instead.

Person X explodes in anger, he yells at me abruptly to get out the door, threatens me and caught off guard I yell back.

A few minutes later, I go back to this bar that I love so much and I apologize to him because I was aware that I might have been caught in the heat of the moment. He starts yelling at me again after I say sorry. He tells me he is texting his boss. He is out of himself and refuses to serve me or my aunt. The server with the long hair refuses to serve me as well (he seems terrified and to be walking on eggshells as well). Person X starts attacking me with violent words and threatens to call the police and to kick me out of the bar. He yells you won’t ever set foot in my bar. Ever again!!!

And all of this in front of my shocked aunt who does not speak a word of French, my aunt told me an Albanian saying to relay to him.

The saying goes like this “we do not cut off the head of one who comes with an apology” ….

At Atalante, they obviously do!

Please, the owners of this bar, if you care about making money and keeping your bar good vides, address this incident. He refused to serve me and you are losing money because of this incompetent manager with anger...

Wouldn’t recommend - fortement déconseillé !

Unless you want to be criticized for your «bad taste» and be told that «you don’t know the taste of real beer» We asked about their selection of beers, «it’s beer» they replied, annoyed that we didn’t instantaneously pick our beverages They then asked us how it went, we were honest to say it was a little bitter. We had to sit for a whole lecture about how we don’t know good taste and theirs is original beer It was patronizing and uncomfortable for us, even the other clients started staring Only then, they told us we should have asked for a tasting session even though they did not mention it when we had...

Absolutely beyond the pale ... i had half a pint left and went out for a smoke. When i came back the pint was gone. When i ask the waiter he was really and i mean really dismissive. Then he insultingly pour a fingers worth on a half pint glass. I have never been so insulted in my life.

Am a really quiet man but when I when i politely questioned him on on that he started calling me a lier.

Totally outrageous.

Only then and only then he pulled half a pint while like i was a lier and that make it ok while keep calling me a lier.

Then yes i was rude i refused the "peace offering" walk out and...
