We arrived at the shop at 10.50. One employee told as the kitchen closes at 11.00. We asked if we could still order, understandably we didn't want to step over their schedule. Another employee came to take our order after 5 minutes, but told us kitchen was closed- so no brunch options.

Pay attention to work hours- even if it's open, kitchen is closed after 11.00 for brunch.

I'm unsure how much earlier you have to be there so they actually serve you.

Other than that, their coffee was the best we've had in Paris, actually made of ground beans. Didn't bother to ask us about sugar though.

Their cake was stale, too sweet and with a couple small hairs on the plate. Yikes

If you don't speak french, I'd suggest you...

My dinner companion ordered the butternut squash and burrata, but got seriously distracted by the delicious smashed potatoes, boiled on the inside and like homemade potato chips on the outside, crisp and salted. The narrative quality of Maria Bonnici’s food – everything tastes like something you’ve read about in book and hungrily imagine. My leek appetizer had something of the forest floor about it – fresh and natural. A foraged taste. And the huge salad was delicious – light with lacy greens and fresh sliced figs. Tender strips of lamb. Dessert of fig, airy cream and dense shortbread. We took home sweets for breakfast, chocolate babka and a lemon-almond roll, to let the fairy...

La Bête Noire is one of the best cafés in the neighborhood (I live very close to the café). Very ideal for a short rest, waiting for friends, or chatting (it’s a little noisy here). You can also study here (I tried once, they didn’t stop me) if you can tolerate people talking. The servers speak well English and French, and are very nice, always passionate about their work. You hear Amy Winehouse’s music here. Their coffee is delicious and not expensive (Latte 3.5 ; Cappuccino 4.5). Desserts are good too. I had never tried their cuisine so can’t tell. Anyway, this is a café that worth stopping by. It’s great for local people who need a confortable place to do all...

La Bête Noire is a wonderful little café/restaurant in front of Port Royal. I have only been for café and pastries (twice), so I can only comment on that. Great quality coffee. They have some massive fresh scones that are very nice as well. There is a selection of freshly baked cakes and other pattisseries. I really like it. Customer service is prime. The staff members always explain everything in detail and are super nice; always a good conversation. The environment is nice. It’s calm. They have temporary art exhibitions from upcoming artists on their walls (for sale), which is interesting. 100% recommended !!

My siblings and I visited for lunch while in Paris. Wanted to have something very Parisian and unique. The staff was lovely, and caring. The French my siblings and I speak is non existent and they were able to communicate with us in English. Lovely little local — the food was absolutely scrumptious. I recommend you try their pastries and their lunch menu if you find yourself in Paris. We appreciated the hospitality — thank you for taking the time to read about my experience :)) Merci
