We stayed at the Hotel des Mines at the end of April 2025. It was our first stop after traveling across the Atlantic with 2 young children, 3 and 5 years old, arriving first thing one morning. We chose the hotel given it’s proximity to the Luxembourg Gardens and the playground located within. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay there again. ||1. Rooms: We are a family of 4 and wanted a room that could accommodate all of us. The family room was perfect. A large bed for the parents and 2 twins for the kids. It was large enough to accommodate all of our travel luggage, as well (2 large suitcases, 2 umbrella strollers and 2 backpacks.|2. Metro: We flew into CDG around 830AM and took the metro in. There is a stop very close which made this the best option for us. It also makes it very easy to see the rest of the city quickly. |3. Proximity to Luxembourg Gardens: This park is amazing and has a playground (nominal fee) that our kids loved. There are also pony rides 2x’s a week. An attempt to overcome jetlag and keep two tiny humans occupied and cheerful with little sleep, staying close to this park was clutch. It allowed our very tired kids a really fun outdoor space to keep them up through early afternoon to align there clocks with Paris time. It worked beautifully. We visited every afternoon. |4. Friendly staff|5. Grocery store nextdoor. This was super helpful for snack /fruit purchasing daily. |6. Bonus: There was a refrigerator in our room. This was a surprise to us and one we were super thankful for. We kept it stocked with yogurt and fruit so ensure our little ones had healthy snacks at night if they were hungry. |We are happy to have found the hotel via many other reviews online. I would definitely recommend it to any solo traveler,...
