Hutong is the name of an old district in China (I hope I got this right). It’s a very apt name for this unassuming but excellent little informal restaurant close to Jardin de Luxembourg and RER B Port Royal. I had the delicious Hutong Chicken Rice with a cucumber salad and a Matcha Latte. When I told the owner how much I liked it and that I had never had anything like it he explained to me that this was her grandmother’s recipe from the south of china whereas the rest of the menu notably the Guities (Chinese fried raviolis ) were from the North. The savory menu is small but really great. We sampled most of it and loved everything. The guoties dumplings are amazing, filled with the beef broth but crispy outside and the vegetarian version was just as good.
