I asked about gluten free food and was recommended Sarassin (Buckwheat) pasta by the waitress. When the meal arrived, I began to eat and found the tagliatelle were largely stuck together in bundles. The proprietor insisted in getting me a new meal, which I appreciated. The second meal was better, but part way through, I found normal pasta in the plate. Called the waitress who apologised but the proprietor would not come to see me. I wasn't charged. I was violently ill that evening. Needed a doctor. Spoke with the proprietor re this and his response was that: I can't guarantee anything will be Gluten free, we are not a 100% GF restaurant. He saw no problem with cooking GF pasta in the same saucepan as normal pasta. We do not guarantee anything!! Disappointing Experience at La Cantina

I'm shocked by the subpar service and food quality at La Cantina, especially given its location in Paris. Our experience was marred by:

Poor Service: We waited over 10 minutes for someone to take our order, despite the restaurant being almost empty. Disappointing Pasta: As pasta lovers, we were expecting more. Unfortunately, the dishes didn't meet our expectations (1/5). Crème Brûlée Disaster: The crème brûlée was a catastrophe. The sugar was burnt, and instead of remaking it, the staff sprinkled white sugar on top (0/5). Forgotten Order: One of our guests' orders was completely forgotten, and we were still charged for it.

Overall, I'd give La Cantina 1.5/5 stars. For an Italian restaurant in Paris, this is unacceptable. Unless they improve, I'd advise others to explore...

A decent Italian spot on the main street. We had pasta and a glass of wine. It wasn’t amazing, but it did the job and we left feeling happily full. Tiramisu as a dessert didn’t disappoint.

They brought out a small basket of delicious bread, which was actually the highlight of the meal, especially when paired with olive oil and salt. We didn’t spot those at first and ended up taking them from the free table next to us, so be sure to ask for them.

The staff were generally friendly, except for one waitress who didn’t seem to be in the best mood and came across a bit passive-aggressive.
