La Chope — Restaurant in Paris

We arrived in Paris and had a hotel close to La Chope. The Google reviews looked ok so we went for a diner and drinks to La Chope. The barman is a VERY KIND person trying to make everyone happy. So 5 stars for him! We went there for diner. We ordered the salmon with frites. I really do not exaggerate when I tell you this has been the worst diner we ever had and did not eat it completely. We informed the barman, he offered something else to serve, we made a choice, it was slightly better and we still did not eat it completely. Chanced upon this cafe while looking for a brunch place and I’ll tell you, we weren’t disappointed. The server was super polite and charming (turns out he was also the bartender); he didn’t speak English but we were somehow able to communicate and joke.
