AVOID IF YOU ARE A TOURIST! Read why... The good: the absinthe was alright, the drip service, setting the sugar alight, all fun and delightful. The meh: had a croque monseiur which was basically cheese and toasted bread, no béchamel sauce to be found. So an inverted grilled cheese really. THE BAD: "we don't take credit cards" after I watched two French speakers, looked like regulars, use it without issue. So I had to use the emergency €40 I had on me. The bill was €29 and I got €10 back as the waitress "didn't have enough change". There's always that one shitty place that takes advantage of you when you visit somewhere awesome like Paris. And La Fée Verte was that one place. Avoid.

Paris' original bar for classic Absinthe. Great selections. I tried the La Muse Verte, 68%, 8¥ for 2cl. What you do is drip water from an ice fount over a sugar cube that dissolved into the Absinthe. See the photos. The taste is somewhat similar to pastis. Don't want to drink this daily, Absinthe was popular in France in late 19th & early 20th centuries and it was the poison of choice for Vincent Van Gogh which probably killed far too many brain cells and led to his demise. The restaurant has quite a good selection of food/meal menu at reasonable prices.

We didn't eat here, but went for the Absinthe experience and they did not disappoint. Waitress was fabulous, we sat outside, late at night, chatted with a local couple, got the impressive Absinthe experience and enjoyed the local celebration of the Paris football win. Fireworks, with a ton of street revelry. We moved inside by 11:30 pm as it was chilly. The waitress was great about it and set us up for another (stronger) round of Absinthe. Lovely experience!

If you put whipped cream (that tastes milk free) and half a buscuit and call it „Tiramisu” I might feel bad to get up and leave despite this scam that does nit deserve my money. But at the end you’ll pay regardless, and I chose you’ll pay with this review.

Also the coffee was horrible and the guy was aggressive when I asked if that’s my cappucino - for no reason whatsoever.

Business like this make me go to chain stores sometimes, yes offense.

I should have got up and leave, honestly. It was so scammy. And don’t dare telling me it’s anything to do with Mascarpone because it was obviously cheap whipped cream from...
