We had one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a restaurant here ar La Main d’or Maman Loboko restaurant .
I arrived at the restaurant at 19:00h with my partner and informed the waitress that we had a reservation with La Fork for 50% off. We waited almost 30 minutes to be served. After eating we were told that the La Fork discount would not be honored because we only ordered one big plate to share that was 25 euros. The manager or owner (I assume that the lady who spoke to us when it was time to pay the bill was the manager/owner), said that we would not receive the 50% discount and that she would cancel the reservation because she did not want to pay La Fork the commission that she is contracted to pay.
We requested that she not cancel the reservation since we came and ate as planned. Even though the manager was completely wrong in not honoring the 50% discount, to avoid a scene at the restaurant, we decided to pay more than 50%. We told her that we would pay 15 euros. When we asked to pay by credit card we were told that the credit card machine was not working (even though there was a clear and legible sign on the entrance door of the restaurant saying that credit cards are accepted). We were told that we had to pay by cash. Since neither my partner nor I had cash on us, one of us had to leave the restaurant and find an ATM to withdraw money, then return to the restaurant to pay the manager/owner. This was completely unacceptable, embarrassing and borderline unlawful. Horrible customer service!
The manager/owner promised us that she would not cancel the reservation but did not give us a receipt to prove that we paid. I have never had such terrible service...
Read moreWhen we enter the establishment, there was no one to welcome or sit us. Had to rely in guest who were having dinner to inform us to sit as we please. We were a group of 7, we had to sort out on our own 7 seats. To gather the 7th seat we attempted to request a shared space from a client who was simply having a drink n in his phone.
The owner appeared from nowhere and started to address us in a very inpolite manner. She didn't even try to accommodate us and welcome us she was straight up RUDE !!!!!
Not wanting to engage in an argument with her for her unprofessionalism we simply left and her comment was I DONT CARE !!
So much for customer service. DO...
Read moreA great place to come to if you’re looking to experience authentic African cuisine, and excellent hospitality.
My sister and I were on the hunt for Congolese food in Paris as we heard that it was home to many African restaurants, we read the reviews here and decided to dine at La Main D’or.
I had brown rice, fresh salad and a hefty portion of meat skewers.
The hostess is super friendly and hospitable which is a plus when you decide to eat out at any restaurant! Atmosphere is laid back and relaxed - very clean and sanitary environment.
Will definitely be back here the next time I visit Paris. Merci...
