Le Hérisson — Restaurant in Paris

Some of the dishes we ordered were very good (such as the fish and the cauliflower), while other dishes were very disappointing. The Angus beef was not worth finishing, it was tough and extremely bland. The rest fell in the middle, while not disappointing they could do with more flavour. I would definitely have preferred more consistency in the quality of the dishes. Our experience started great but was tarnished as we got further into the meal. I would find it difficult to recommended this restaurant due to this inconsistency as if all we ordered were the poor performers, I would not have wanted to finish the meal. While if all we ordered were the top performers, this place would have been a 5-star dining experience.

It’s rare that a restaurant excites me enough to write a review. But I have to say, that I am truly in a state of bliss after eating here! The food is incredible, the quality of ingredients and the proportions are better than expected. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I think every staff member had greeted me and was continually ensuring that I was satisfied. I could see they were passionate and happy with the restaurant and really cared about their customers experience. Especially being an American with no knowledge of French they made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. The menu isn’t overwhelming and it is obvious that there is much time and attention to detail put into the menu options. Its happened, I found it. The best restaurant I have ever been to. I don't know where to start.

The server (maybe owner) was very kind as a fumbled my bad French. The ambiance is beautiful and relaxing with a nice patio.

The selection of red wine was fantastic. I tried all three and they were all excellent. But now to the good part. The food.

Absolutely a must try. I don't know who this chef is but he's an absolute genius. I don't understand how this place doesn't have a michelin star. The way he mixes the flavors, it's absolutely mind blowing.
