Le Pétrin Normand — Restaurant in Paris

No pastry tastes good enough to make up for how awful they treat you if you aren't a native French speaker, but maybe they're just horrible to everyone.

I have been here a number of times because I do like some of their items more than other bakeries in the area. The ladies working there have always been a bit curt and impatient, but I had just put that down to it being a bit busy at those times. Today, I decided to collect a large number of items to share with friends I was meeting and I happened to be at the bakery alone. She first treated me with disdain for not having perfect French (she specifically asked about and commented on it, I definitely wasn't imagining things. It's not my first language and she speaks perfect English). She then repeatedly guilted me for destroying the environment because my order used five paper bags and a box (I had told her up front that I would be taking a lot of things and she chose to put them in the small bags. Maybe I was supposed to carry them out in my arms or bring my own paper bags? Maybe there's a one-pastry-per-person-per-day rule I'm unaware of?). I was also instructed harshly how to use the debit machine (I hadn't asked for or needed help with it and I'm almost surprised she didn't demand to do it for me with my code). As I was leaving, she managed to remind me at least twice that the planet was being killed by people like me. I honestly don't understand how someone can be that vitriolic to a stranger who is(/was) just excited about sharing pastries...

L'accueil est à la tête du client, il m'arrive d'avoir des bonjour froids et pas de au revoir alors que le client d'après est accueilli avec un grand sourire... Tellement pas commerçant...! Les vendeuses ne sont vraiment pas aimables. Quant aux produits ils sont pour la plupart très moyens, je vous déconseille par exemple de prendre le pain aux raisins, très peu de raisin dedans, la pate n'est pas feuilletée et la creme patissière inexistante... le chausson aux pommes est immangeable (gout de liquide vaisselle quand je l'ai gouté) et le prix du pain au chocolat ne fait que grimper et sa taille diminuer... Je croise souvent des gens dans le quartier passer devant cette boulangerie avec une baguette à la main qui ne vient pas de chez eux... cherchez l'erreur, je pense que les clients vont chercher la qualité ailleurs,...

c’est la dernière fois que je viens dans cette boulangerie et pourtant cliente fidèle mais la dame assez âgée qui est  vendeuse aucune limite. Elle se permet de faire un commentaire car j’ai demandé de me couper une baguette après qu’elle l’a mis dans le sachet ( comme il pleuvait) et le jeune homme qui était après moi il a déjà demandé sa baguette. Donc elle me dit que le monsieur aurait pu se fâcher et que je devais dire avant car elle s’occupe d’un autre client et pourtant je n’étais pas partie de la caisse.Je regarde le monsieur je m’excuse lui Même gêné par les commentaires de la vendeuse. Tu n’as pas envie de travailler va au chômage ou la retraite. Dommage car leur baguette est bonne mais quand on embauche de gens comme ça c’est...
