This hotel was just the rotten apple of Paris. So much lies according to their website and the description on other booking websites. They agreed that the room looks nothing like on the websites, but we had to deal with it. The issues started from the moment we arrived in our reserved room. I tried to have a nice moment in Paris so I chose the "Prestige" room. According to their website it has a bed with a small sitting area with some chairs and a table, and bathroom looks somewhat fancy. We came into a (max. 8m2) room with a 140cm wide bed, where my feet sticks out when laying down (l'm 183cm) and with a small desk and a chair. The bathroom does has a bath but so small you just cannot sit in it. (See my photos to have a better view) Since this was so incorrect with description on the websites (untill they finally update the photos and description on the websites with the correct ones), I went back to the frontdesk to clear things up. Their answer in conclusion: "We have all kind of prestige rooms and the pictures and description on the website is just from the nice one.". In other words, just hope you are lucky to get the one of the picture and otherwise just accept we screwed you over. Yea, the other ones looks the same as their normal double/twin rooms but only with a window view with a deadplant and a large building across, or as they calls it the "garden view". Oh and don't forget you pay almost an extra 100 euro more. The rooms with the garden view is also marked as "Extremely quiet", but that was not it. Since there was a building across you can still hear people talking at night and very early in the morning. About the staff, they somewhat tried to be nice, but trust me, they are not. Watch closely and you will see their face changing quickly after a forced smile. And don't forget the chit-chatty bold man that, even though we said we were in a hurry, had to enter the World Cup score on the poster on the wall before handing our the room keys back. The hotel is located next to some cafes, restaurant and supermarkets, which is nice. But it will take you at least 30 minutes to the tourist area/sightseeings. So in conclusion, we booked a weekend trip to from the Netherlands to Paris to celebrate the bastille day, but this was really a sad place. If you cherish quality and why people love and recommend Paris so much, I would suggest you to choose a different accommodation.

*TLDR: Dirty, suspected bed bugs, mold everywhere.* BEWARE!! Incredibly disappointing and stressful visit. My partner and I booked this hotel for our 3 day trip in Paris based on all of the positive reviews we read here saying how clean the rooms were and how nice the staff were. When we got here, we were extremely disappointed. The rooms were very very dirty and looked nothing like the photos on the website or how the reviews described. The entire bathroom was COVERED in mold (see photo), the carpets were dirty and dusty, the kettle was filthy and clearly had not been cleaned at all (see photo), the drain in the shower was completely clogged and flooded every time we showered. And worst of all, the mattresses were absolutely covered in stains (see photo) and dirt and did not have a proper mattress cover. The “cover” was like paper and only barely covered the top part, it did not properly fit around the entire mattress or the sides at all. We did a thorough bed bug check and found several areas with indications of bed bugs: black/brown dots, seemingly casings/skin, rust colored stains etc (see photos). We informed the front desk about our issues after our first night. The man at the front desk was nice, he came up and looked at the issues we showed him (the areas on the mattress and mold in the bathroom) and he offered us a new room. We went to the new room and checked once again for bed bugs. The mattress in the second room had ACTUAL dead BUGS on it when we lifted it up to check. We didn’t end up saying anything to the staff this second time because we were already utterly exhausted and frustrated. We just put all of our luggage in the bathroom as far away from the bed as possible and hoped for the best. We tried to spend a little time as possible in the hotel. Overall, bad, stressful experience and now we have lots of anxiety about potentially bringing bed bugs back home. I guess it’s our fault for booking a 3-star hotel that was very affordable. You get what you pay for. The pros: nice area with lots of restaurants, bakeries and shops and located right across the street from a metro stop. The staff were all nice and helpful for non-French speaking tourists. There was free coffee and tea and a water filling station in the lobby as well which was very convenient. But the cons outweigh any pros. Would absolutely NOT stay here again.

I recently stayed at [Hotel Abaca Messidor by HappyCulture] during my first solo trip to Europe, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. After a grueling 13-hour flight, followed by a 2-hour ordeal getting out of the Paris airport, I was utterly exhausted by the time I arrived at the hotel. The journey involved taking an airport bus and then the metro, so I was looking forward to checking in and getting some rest. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a young male staff member at the reception. I said, "Hi. I want to check in," but he responded with "bonne soirée." When I repeated, "Hello :) I want to check in," he again said "bonne soirée," seeming to expect me to speak French. This was a bit frustrating as I was very tired and just wanted to check in quickly. To make matters worse, my room was changed from 510 to 501 for some reason. Room 501 was oddly situated next to the elevator, while the other rooms (502-510) were grouped together in a different section. I assumed this was because I was traveling alone, but the room itself left much to be desired. There was no refrigerator, and the hairdryer was broken, making me wonder how long the room had been neglected. Despite these issues, the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location is excellent. It's situated in the heart of Paris, making it easy to explore major attractions. Overall, while there were some disappointing aspects to my stay, the convenient location and the helpfulness of most of the staff made it a decent choice. I hope the hotel management takes note of these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

My experience at this hotel was HORRIBLE! First of all, they did not have the room that I requested upon arrival. They gave me an upgrade the first night, and I was forced to change the room the following day. On the following day, my new room was not ready when I arrived at the reception or the receptionist did not know I was supposed to make a change (which is not normal). Upon my arrival that evening back to the hotel, I had discovered that all my things were removed from the room without my knowledge and my personal items had been touched by complete strangers (hotel staff). When I went to the reception, they were rude and gave nothing but excuses and did not even offer an apology for the mix-up (which was their fault), since I went to the reception that morning to make the room change but the receptionist apparently knew nothing about it. When I spoke to the owner of the hotel on the phone he was extremely rude, gave nothing but excuses and hung up on me. Talk about good customer service! They gave me another room for the night which was way smaller than the one I reserved. It was next to the stairs, and lots of people were passing by making noise. To top it off, the room was dirty! There were dirty underwear and socks on the floor left by the previous guest!!! How disgusting!!! The cleaning staff do not do a thorough job cleaning the rooms. The next day I changed the room AGAIN! In less than 48 hours I had been in three different rooms. To make it worse, the elevator was not working. I had to walk up and down 6 flights of stairs during all this drama. And the telephones in the room were also out of service. Needless to say, I was forced to change my hotel. I wouldn't advise this hotel to anyone. There are better hotels in the neighborhood if you are looking for a more...
