Here we go again....Another Algerian restaurant that serves Moroccan cuisine without mentioning it. I've seen some people in the comments dare to talk about "authentic Algerian cuisine"... Are they serious ? It's a big joke : this Algerian restaurant is committing culinary appropriation by serving Moroccan cuisine and Moroccan tagines without mentioning that it's Moroccan. This restaurant identifies itself as offering only Algerian cuisine, so why is this restaurant serving Moroccan dishes ? Algerian restaurants can no longer cook Moroccan food and expect customers not to notice. We are now aware of this dishonest behavior, we're no longer being fooled like before. This culinary appropriation is shameful and dishonest. We all know that Moroccan cuisine is exceptional, that it has been named the best in Africa and named the best gastronomy in the world in 2024. However, the reputation and the rise of Moroccan cuisine arouses the envy of other North African countries, such as Algerian restaurants in Paris, which allow themselves to serve Moroccan dishes with impunity. It's okay, you can serve Moroccan cuisine in an Algerian restaurant, but at least mention it ! Otherwise, without mentioning the Moroccan origin, it becomes culinary appropriation. I have visited many Algerian restaurants in Paris, and they all serve Moroccan cuisine without mentioning it. I don't know when this "trend" will stop, it seems that Algerian cuisine does not enjoy a prestigious cuisine, I think that is one of the reasons why Algerian restaurants are content to serve Moroccan dishes or revisited dishes that are not authentic, like this omelet with fries which is cooked almost everywhere in the world and which has nothing Algerian about it. These Algerian restaurants should know that cooking the dishes of another nation and people is disrespectful and it's called culinary appropriation, and that is what these Algerian restaurants are doing by serving Moroccan dishes without mentioning that it is Moroccan and not Algerian. These restaurants...
Read moreThis restaurant is conveniently located close to public transports and is somewhat bigger and less crowded compared to other Algerian restaurants in the area. They serve traditional Algerian food, mainly common dishes such as Couscous, tajines, grillades,... The food is prepared in advance, so they just heat up and serve rather quickly!!. Make sure to ask for some complimentary ment tea 🍵 if not offered!! Staff is very welcoming especially the manager 😀...it's the reason I am giving it 5* !!. I personally had a good time here and...
