It's rare that I give online reviews to restaurants. As someone who worked for the last 20 years as a Sommelier in some of the best Restaurants, I have a lot of understanding for "mishaps" and I can forgive a lot of mistakes as long as I have a good time. In this case however, the food was great, the lunch prices fair, the wine great and the room beautiful, which still didn't make for a great lunch due to the unfriendly staff. I know 100% how it is to have a really bad day and still having to work. But a minimum of friendliness should still be possible. Today there was no smile, no "thank you", no "please", no "how was the food ", no "have a nice day", nobody asked if we wanted coffee. Only the face of the waiter who had a look on his face like you as a guest are responsible for all his misery. (The lady put a forced smile on once when we paid, but overall she seemed in a bad mood as well) Basically, we just didn't feel welcome at all. It's a pity for such a nice place. And I know that this review won't make any difference. The place is beautiful, the food good, and therefore it's full and nobody cares if we come back the next time we are in Paris. I still think it's a shame. It's still called the hospitality industry, but what is hospitality without a single smile or...
Read moreNatural wines are very sour, and compared to traditional wines, they are not tasty (I don’t drink based on a "correct" concept or point of view—I drink wine that tastes good). Additionally, there are people like me who simply cannot drink natural wines. I experience severe stomachaches, and the last time I drank one, I even suffered from vomiting afterward. The restaurant should really indicate on the wine list whether a wine is "natural wine" or not.
The pasta didn’t feel like a proper starter for a fine dining restaurant. The dishes were also not well seasoned—for example, the fish lacked a bit of salt, while the zucchini and mussels on the side were extremely over-salted. The veal was slightly overcooked and tasteless.
The atmosphere in the restaurant wasn’t calm either. The waiter dropped the amuse-bouche, one of the cooking staffs broke plates, and since it’s an open kitchen, the cooking staffs should be more careful and cautious... we saw one of the cooking staff put food into his mouth with his hands—twice!
The desserts were good, but I won’t be returning to the restaurant because the wine selection was completely...
Read moreThis restaurant has been on the top of my list whenever someone asks me for an unforgettable dining experience in Paris. I have been here many times and each experience has been exceptional.
Everything about the experience is thoughtful and welcoming, but not in a stuffy, white tablecloth kind of way. Now mind you, they don't have a star - yet. But it would not surprise me if this will arrive in the not so distant future.
The food is the piece de resistance (obviously) and changes on a regular basis due to the farm to table philosophy of the house. The way in which fresh ingredients are molded and shaped brings out stunning flavor combinations in creative and surprising ways.
You will never eat the same meal here twice, but that is part of why I keep coming back.
Merci beaucoup pour votre passion et...
