Standing in the doorway while Madame checked to see if we could be seated, a knowing Parisienne looked at my lame French speaking self then down at her cassoulet, pointing at the dish, then back at me and smiled. Thatâs the moment you know: you didnât mean to be here, it was happenstance, but you have arrived and it will be good. Madame was delightful and we followed her suggestions for a meal that was more pleasing and delightful than the starred meal we would have the following day. The ambience was comfort without fussiness, the place spotless, the music from the kitchen like a perfect indie record store reminded us that people and their personalities create great food. Itâs been three months and I still think of it; Iâll be back in a few weeks and cannot wait to see whatâs for lunch. And when I move to the 20e at the end of the year, I hope to be a regular.    Read moreWe visited Lou Tiap with my family one evening in late September, staying at a nearby hotel. Although reservations are typically required, we were lucky to find a table available. The table was set in a simple, charming way, and the dishes were incredibly fresh, straight from the fire. We enjoyed cassoulet, ray and duck â all of which were exceptional. The restaurant is small, cozy, and blissfully free from loud music or unnecessary noise, making it the perfect place to enjoy a quiet, delicious meal. A wonderful...
Read moreVery good high quality food for a reasonable price! I visited the restaurant with my boyfriend for lunch. Clearly not touristy, which we loved. The owner running it was super nice and very helpful. The food is all home made (including delicious ice cream) and you can taste the quality. I had an offer of the day with a starter, main course, dessert and a drink for just under 20âŹ, which is very reasonable for Paris. My boyfriend had a cassoulet menu for 35⏠(also with starter and dessert) and the price matched the quality. What we really enjoyed was the friendly atmosphere and general warmth of the place. Lots of wood, no white tablecloths, very welcoming. I can recommend it to anybody who is looking for something outside of the main...
