Oui Mon Général ! — Restaurant in Paris

Great find. Was walking by tonight and it looked like a place I’d like. Walked in, no reservation but the hostess was great and seated me at the bar. Place was almost empty at the time and I thought a little odd, but it was packed within 30 minutes. No English menu but the the hostess and a waitress offered to help. I asked about one item and the waitress stated “ it is fantastic, you will love it”. So I ordered that (no idea what was coming) and the grilled octopus, which even my limited French allowed me to read. Great bartender, she could not have been nicer, got me a glass of Boudreaux and my octopus came out. Fantastic! Some of the best of had, tender but with a nice crunch from the grill on the edge. My surprise main course was a great ham and sausage stew. Perfect on a chilly Paris night. You could tell a lot of the crowd were regulars and the staff got along great. Upon entering the restaurant, one is greeted by modern and minimalistic decoration, setting the stage for an exploration of an extensive wine selection catering to every taste. On the hunt for a warm meal after a cold, rainy visit to the Musee de l'Armee, we stumbed into Oui Mon General around 6PM. Their kitchen wasn't open until 7PM, but they graciously let us sit in their dining room over a few drinks until then. They also let us order early so our orders went in ASAP, and we ended up getting our food a little early as well. The scallops, pork cheeks, and pot au feu were absolutely delicious, but the highlight was the great hospitality we got from our server (I believe his name was Gerant).
