One of the first and only vegetarian restaurants in all of Paris. They also serve fish. This is a must visit!

Intimate. Cozy. Sexy. Local French culture and complex cuisine vibes

Ingredients sourced fresh.. feels literally like farm to table

Starters..

Mushroom soup: woah! Unlike anything I’ve had before. Delicate. Aromatic. Rich in herbs. Light. Medley of mushrooms the chef adapts to how she’s feeling every time.. never the same.. constantly improving!

House special ‘gyoza’: made from mushrooms.. somehow has an Asian twinge to it! Includes algae, green tea, Asian (likely japanese) oyster mushroom .. and secret ingredients of the chef.. suspect contains coriander, parsley, basil.. mind bending. Garnishee with mushrooms on top

The bread.. bought fresh from local baker who bakes it with rosemary and fresh herbs. Drizzled in olive oil .. crunchy and crisp. French zatar bread..

Main..

Mikate di bacalao: wow wow wow! Fresh cod.. battered in bread crumbs, spices, fennel and other things.. dressed in different ‘secret sauces’ made by the chef. Must. Get. This!!!

Dessert.. ‘Nashi..’ the specialty poached pear dessert: ..not sure how to describe this.. exotic fruits and poached pear with different types of seeds.. slightly natural sweet with a tart tangy taste..

Had opportunity to chat with Chef.. her passion and love for cooking was abundantly clear.. so much so, felt overcome with emotion simply by observing her commitment to her craft.. she spends each morning thinking of how to curate the menu for the day.. and how she can improve the experience for all her guests. And it shows!

Service was outstanding as well. Thomas took great care of me.. and was hyper-attentive to all my needs. Part of the amazing overall experience

My son and I recently had dinner at Persil and were blown away by the food, the service, and the ambience of the place. A typical Parisian bistro but with the light touch that sets it apart.

The food is a nice change from the typical offerings in Paris, combining some of the flavours and craftsmanship of classic French cooking with new ideas and twists. We had gyoza to start and mikaté for a main dish, and both were quite something.

The very cool chef came out of the kitchen and visited our table for a chat, which was a nice touch. She started serving food through Airbnb experiences, a sort of supper club at her home, before opening Persil, her first restaurant. That personal approach comes through in her food and her way with customers like us.

The service was also great. Front of house is a cool Canadian-Italian guy, who has a nice manner about him. He's welcoming and attentive but without being overbearing or too standoffish, and combines North America's service culture with the French sense of vocation and professionalism.

I lived in Paris some years ago and returned for the first time in six years to find Persil a nice surprise that lived up to its reviews in the New York Times and elsewhere. It isn't the type of place to get your classic steak and fries, but that's the point. Go for a nice change and you will be rewarded.

Booking recommended - this place is popular, especially on the weekends, so make sure you get your table sorted before you go.

And if any problems, the staff seemed pretty happy to help.

Highly...

absolutely incredible in every sense. found this place looking for vegan options on a trip with non vegans and it was everything i was looking for on my trip to paris and the meat eaters in my party agree as well. phenomenal food, fresh vegetables (and fish according to my fiancée and father in law), beautiful presentation, personable service, gorgeous and unique atmosphere, even loved the music they were playing. make sure you set aside time to come here. there’s a sign in the window that says “slow food” and trust me, you don’t want it any other way. we savored every moment and every bite. there is love and passion in the food that is truly just inspiring. it made me so excited to cook when i return home from my trip, and so sad that no place near me will compare. thank you for a memorable dinner. i will dream of the tapioca for the rest of my life!

This was the prefect spot to satisfy everyones needs, even my carnivorous brother enjoyed the food! The chef was super kind and adjusted the green tea gyoza with rice wrappers to make them gluten free. The eggplant roll was lovely and herby, they made it without cheese for me :) They didn't have any VG GF options for dessert on the menu that so the chef made us a special coconut and chocolate treat with coconut cream which was actually the highlight of my meal! The chef clearly has a unique creative flair! Thank you for having us and we will be sure to visit again when we return to Paris.
