Residence Kann — Restaurant in Paris

Had a really horrible experience today at Residence Kann Coffee. I was told by a friend it was a great place to get work done since there is a back room with many plugs. It took at least five minutes of me being the only one in line standing in front of the staff at the cash register to order before anyone even acknowledged me. A "one moment please" would have been the respectful thing to say. Then I sat down in the back room, where there were others on laptops, and the wifi connection did not work. When I went to ask the staff about it, they were extremely rude and one of them did not even allow me to finish my sentence before leaving the room when I was trying to verify what the password was. When I went back to the front to let them know there was a problem, one staff member informed me that they do not allow computers on the weekends. (Mind you, this was not clearly marked anywhere.) His underlying message was clear: leave. So I did. Five euros for an overpriced coffee down the drain, and only spent an agonizing 30 minutes there. I do not recommend this café, unless you can handle extremely aloof...

When we first arrived at the cafe there were a total of 3 employees and they were talking to each other so we waited and said hello first. There was not a single staff member to answer our greetings, nor did we ask if we would like to place an order. It was clear they saw us, because not all three were turning their backs on the door. We didn't really get any greetings and ordering information and this place doesn't seem to be willing to take orders, so when we tried to leave we still didn't hear "au revoir''. Of course we did!

we didn't get any service, so I'm leaving a star rating without comment. If you think the staff here don't speak English, we all speak French.

My favorite place ever !

I’ve been going there for years and I couldn’t recommend it more ! Best location ever, right next to the Canal St Martin, lots of amazing shops nearby, it’s the perfect place to chill, work, hang out with friends !

The manager and the staff is super nice, it’s usually pretty busy but they’re always smiling and helpful. The coffee is amazing (I strongly recommend the Flat white and iced latte in summer), the place is super nicely designed and in the summer you can even take to go cups and chill by the canal !

There’s also small terrasse, but the street is pretty quiet and nice, but they also have a small room in the back where it’s super nice to work at !

Couldn’t recommend it more...
