A big shout-out to Manager Gizam and Yasin who have been wonderful as they took care of us during our 8-day stay at Le Citizen Hotel. They are some of the nicest people we know and super helpful too. My husband needed to see a doctor and Gizam managed to get us a doctor who came within an hour. We stayed at the Suite and the king sized bed is lovely and comfortable. The room is neat, clean. There is a lot of sunlight in the room (unlike many stuffy rooms in Paris which are old) so it feels fresh and spacious even though it is not a big room (but by Paris standards, 35m sq is acceptable to us at that price). The view of the canal is lovely. I have only one issue - it is noisy on the weekends so i needed to keep the windows shut as i am a light sleeper. I used ear plugs so most of the noise was kept out. But because there is no AC during autumn and winter, i would need to keep the farthest window from our bed open to let in cool air otherwise it is a tad too warm for me. So to fix this issue for me, I made sure that all the windows were open for cool air and ventilation when we were out and about in the day so that when we were about to sleep at night, the room is nice and cool. One night, the weather was a tad warm (yes unusual for October!) so i had no choice but to keep the furthest window open to let in cool air. So my only complaint was that I wished there was a choice for air conditioning in the rooms in case the room is warm. But other than that, the hotel in general was great for us as we were surrounded by some really lovely restaurants and cafes. There are so many to choose from! Oh and the Amorino ice cream shop is just opposite and it closes at midnight so you can imagine the amount of ice cream we had. A romantic area to stay at for couples because the canal is romantic at night as it allows for some lovely strolls along the canal. Thank you once again Gizam and Yasin! Love,...
Read moreThis is hands down the WORST HOTEL EVER!!! I booked a reservation for my Mom's surprise birthday trip. We traveled from the U.S. The rooms were nothing like the online portrayal. We were then 'upgraded' to a room on the top floor, supposedly, one of their best. The outside sound was so loud, it became completely unbearable, not to mention, the room was cold. There were (2) space heaters in the room. They weren't adequate enough to properly heat the room. After a couple of hours of these HORRIBLE conditions, we decided to check out. As I was assisting the Uber driver placing the luggage in the trunk, my Mom fell, while existing the establishment. The owner, Sophie refused to give us any refunds! I would STEER CLEAR of this 'FARCE' of a hotel, if you want to enjoy your stay here in Paris! I would give this place a ZERO star rating, if it was an option. I would best describe this establishment as a 'tiny hotel,' yet they want to charge a premium rate. Lastly, it appears that 'they' are trying to manipulate their Google rating by not showing the lowest reviews. I feel an obligation to share our terrible experience at...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at the Le Citizen for a week in May 2014. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they all speak English. The stay included a good breakfast, including eggs to order, with lots of other options. Each evening there was also a wine happy hour from 6-7. The room was very small and a bit oddly shaped, but very comfortable. It had a nice view of the Canal St. Martin from our room on the 5th floor. However, when the weather was warm for a few days, there was a huge crowd of people who gathered by the canal each evening. The party on the canal went on until well after midnight. With the windows closed the noise was not too loud to sleep. In rainy weather it is pretty quiet. There are also lots of restaurant options around. It is also pretty easy to get around by Metro and on foot.
I would recommend Le Citizen as nice and friendly...
