SUBACO — Restaurant in Paris

Came here on a whim when it was pouring outside so the cozy atmosphere indoors stirred up our appetites even more! The interior is well decorated with a rustic charm, the space is small but charming and inviting.

We were recommended to order 3-5 dishes to share among the 2 of us, we were a bit hungry so we went with 5 and 2 bowls of rice. The portion sizes were perfect and each dish had well rounded flavours. A lovely bijou restaurant away from the busy parts of Paris. The food and interior design all mesh well together to create a very relaxing atmosphere for all guests. The staff are very welcoming and lovely, lots of laughing and smiling in the kitchen, which is always good to hear and see.

Restaurantant mignon dans le quartier, avec un cadre sympathique. Nous avons été bien servis. Mais nous avons malheureusement été bien déçus par les plats, qui outre la quantité vraiment très limite par rapport au prix, nous a laissé sur notre faim gustativement parlant. Je précise que la quantité, nous l'avions vu en photo avant de venir, donc nous nous y attendions. Mais ce sont goûts qui nous ont paru pas à la hauteur.

Le risotto était trop peu cuit, et manquait cruellement de saveurs. La portion de roti de bœuf était vraiment trop limite (3 bouchées à tout casser pour 13€), et là encore, assez fade. La truite était plutôt bien proportionnée, et les pickles d'échalote étaient vraiment intéressants, c'est le plat que nous avons apprécié. Le bœuf et sa purée étaient bon sans plus. Il manquait ce qu'on pouvait attendre d'explosion de saveurs japonaise, avec des agrumes ou autres.

Je pense qu'il y a un bon potentiel, car les produits semblent fondamentalement bons, peut être que l'ancienne carte était plus réussi également.
