I am shocked, SHOCKED, this place gets such high reviews, especially for the awful staff member, Bacci.
We booked online for a two-night stay around Christmas. We reserved one room for 3 people, but were given 2 rooms instead. We explained very kindly that this wouldn't work for us as we had a 5 year old who shouldn't be sleeping in a separate hotel room by herself. The staff said they couldn't do anything and said that we had to take it for at least the night and they would try to fix it tomorrow. We were very upset, but trusted them to resolve the problem in the morning. That night we ran into another upset patron; unsure what the issue was, but we thought it a fluke at the time.
That night, our daughter's room was okay, but our room smelled...well like an animal had died in the walls, or possibly a sewage pipe had a slow leak from the bathroom. Even with the fan on the air wasn't clearing, so we kept the door closed and mostly left our hotel to explore Paris.
The next morning we asked for the room to fit 3 individuals as promised us last night, but we were dealing with a different staff member that day, Bacci. He was the most incipient, worthless with customer service, disgrace to the French people, little man that I have ever EVER met. He was extremely rude and kept lying to us that there were no other rooms available, but as we pressed him his answer kept changing. He left several times in the middle of our conversation without a word - just left!! As he had to come back to the front desk, we waited for him to take us seriously. Finally, he said that someone had left and he could give us the room, but wouldn't tell us when we could enter the room (we simply asked many times at one time should we return, 1pm, 3pm, etc?). He was hoping we'd walk away without a key and then not give us a room for the night as he had already taken the keys from our other rooms.
Finally, he gave us the key, we left our bags with them, and left the hotel to explore Montmartre. During our encounter in the morning, we ran into two other patrons leaving who had similar bad experiences.
The new room was more comfortable and more clean, but when we finally started going to sleep at 1am, we heard scratching noises in walls and ceiling...I've heard that before...those are small animals like mice and rats...I was glad to be leaving the next day.
Although the location was ideally located to the Sacre-Coeur and other favorite parts of Montmartre, it wasn't the best neighborhood. There was a metro station within 1 min from the hotel, which helped a lot with transport into Paris city center. However, there was no parking!! We were told that parking was free online. When we got there, the night staff said that we could buy a parking pass for 24 hours....also not true. If you had a car, you had buy parking every TWO HOURS. We only lucked out because we arrived in the evening and then received free parking because of holidays. Otherwise we would have been hosed with parking rates...nor could we meter our car that often when you're trying to explore the city!! If you have a car, you just can't stay at this hotel, period. We rented the car because we drove into and out of Paris for other destinations, but a car isn't necessary if you're just visiting Paris.
In short: this is a worthless hotel. I can't recommend it to anyone and I hope no one...
Read moreTwo weeks ago, I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Eden Montmartre, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel has the charm of a classic Parisian building—small but cozy—and the staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist.||The welcome was especially delightful; after many hours of traveling, being offered a cup of coffee felt like heaven. I was lucky that my room was ready before check-in, and thanks to the staff’s kindness, I could rest a bit as soon as I arrived, which was greatly appreciated.||My room had beautiful views of the main street, and despite this, it was very quiet at night—I even slept with the window open without any disturbance. There was plenty of space to store and organize my things. The room was well-equipped and practical for resting: the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was complete, without any luxury, but perfect for a good night’s sleep. The only thing I could mention is that a small fridge would have been useful, but it’s a minor detail and doesn’t take away from the experience; I just mention it for future travelers who might need it.||The area is peaceful, with a residential feel that lets you enjoy a more authentic Paris, away from the tourist crowds. It’s also very close to a metro and bus stop for getting around the city, and just a few minutes from the Sacré-Cœur.||In summary: a great hotel, excellent service, comfortable and spacious room, perfect location, and reasonable price. Many thanks to the entire team for your kindness and for making my stay in Paris...
Read moreTravellers BEWARE! start with the positives. This hotel is in a very good position 10 mins from sacre coeur. It is a clean hotel as other reviewers have posted. Therein ends the positives. It is definitely NOT a 3 * hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is very small and run down. This is not a room you would want to spend time in. The bathroom was old and extremely small. good shower pressure though. you will see from photos below how small and pokey it is. If I had travelled with my husband there would be NO place for a second case NOR any space in the makeshift cupboard ( it could not be called a wardrobe). I would say it was pretty grim all round. However, the worse part was i arrived on Monday and had to leave on Tuesday ( buying another eurostar ticket into the mix) as my husband had been admitted to hospital for gall bladder removal. i speak very good French and explained to the manager my urgent situation and he just nodded his head. I am appalled. Finally, this is vastly overpriced for what is a 1* student/ backpacking motel / auberge at best. The rooms face onto the busy road and the hotel has the metro running day and night beneath it. So- no chance of a good night sleep which in my books is the MINIMUM you could ask from a hotel. I am sorry to sound harsh BUT honestly- find a better hotel for this money. I have asked the Hotel and booking.com to use there discretion and refund me for the two days the room is vacant-...
