If I could give a negative review, I would.
We walked into the hotel to make a reservation for the rooftop bar and were told it opened in an hour. After going back and forth about whether to wait, we ultimately decided to wait and stay in the lobby. During that time, we spoke with several lobby and restaurant staff.
When the hour was up, we took the elevator upstairs. The host initially didn’t have my name on the list (it was entered incorrectly), but once cleared up, he was ready to seat us. At that moment, the manager came over and abruptly stopped everything. He told the host and my husband that there was a dress code and my husband’s nice shorts were not acceptable. My daughter and I were both wearing shorts (and she was even in a crop top), yet nothing was said about our attire.
The manager pointed out that the dress code for men is on their website. How were we supposed to know that? Why didn’t any staff member mention it when we made the reservation, especially since we had been sitting in the lobby in plain view for an hour? Why is there no signage anywhere on the property about this supposed policy? Clearly, the staff aren’t fully aligned either.
The manager suggested my husband could go change, but that would have meant an hour-long walk back and forth. More than the policy itself, the real issue was how the manager handled it—he was rude, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome, as if we didn’t have the “right vibe” for their establishment. It was awkward and uncomfortable for us and the guests behind us.
This was our last night in Paris with our daughter, and what should have been a special memory turned into a frustrating and disheartening experience.

Read moreI had been to this rooftop once before and had a great experience, so I decided to book it again for a celebration with 8 friends. Knowing the weather might not be ideal, I called two days in advance to check if we should cancel. The staff assured me that even if it rained, they would not leave us stranded—they promised to seat us either on the lower terrace or in the restaurant.
We even asked specifically if we could just have drinks inside the restaurant, as that was our main plan—to enjoy a drink with friends for our celebration. Since we were reassured we’d be accommodated no matter what, we stopped looking for other venues and didn’t book anywhere else.
Unfortunately, just two hours before our reservation, we received a call saying it was cancelled. We explained that we had confirmed everything in advance and were told we’d be seated somewhere, but they refused to offer any alternative—not even a table indoors or on the other terrace. They offered no help at all.
This last-minute cancellation left us extremely disappointed and scrambling to find a new place for 8 people on short notice. It was very unprofessional and disrespectful, especially after such clear communication and...
