Le Paradis du Fruit — Restaurant in Paris

Unfortunately, our visit to this café was a disappointing experience – despite the great food.

I came here today with three friends, drawn by the café’s charming location and appealing menu. While the food itself was genuinely delicious, the service left much to be desired and significantly affected our overall experience.

We had to wait over 30 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, it took another 30 minutes for the food to arrive – and even then, it was brought out in a very disorganized manner. For example, two cappuccinos were served half an hour after the sandwiches had already arrived. One of us received her pancakes 10 minutes after the rest of us had already finished eating – and only after we reminded the staff twice.

To make matters worse, we then had to wait another 20 minutes just to get the bill. When it finally arrived, it was completely incorrect – we were charged €80 instead of the actual €50. It took several discussions with different waiters before one of them went through the bill with us, corrected the mistake, and offered a sincere apology on behalf of the team, which we appreciated.

Unfortunately, the manager, Chan Dran, was anything but helpful. His dismissive and unprofessional attitude only made the situation more frustrating. Instead of helping to resolve the issues, he made things unnecessarily difficult.

It’s a real shame – this place has so much potential with its great food and location, but the disorganization and attitude of some of the staff make it hard to recommend. A place like this deserves...

I read the first 5 reviews and decided to go there to meet with my friend. True that most reviews mentioned the view outside and the enjoyable food in general, not true that, we believe is the bad luck or because we are Chinese, we meet a terrible waitress. She served wrong plate and my friend mistakenly accepted, because the service is so slow and my friend could not wait for a chance. When we finished, and try to remind the waitress that she had got wrong plate. She then became very pissed off and started to piss us off -- obvously she understands English very well, we learned that from the earlier services, but she refused to speak any English from the reminder of wrong plate. Even no apologize. Instead, she pretend to have difficulties in understanding what we are saying and replied French sentences like “what does xxx mean”. Sadly the worst Paradise du fruit I have visited yet. The food is always great but the service leaves much to be desired. As it is in the middle of Saint Michael, it is always crowded. Wait is to be expected. But having to wait 30 minutes to order is unacceptable. I have been to this restaurant 4 times hoping to get better service. But, I am yet to be pleasantly surprised. Sadly even with such a fantastic location, good food and great drinks, the service, for me, leads it to deserve 1 star.

UPDATE : the food was as always great, the cocktail was heavenly and so, I am obligated by my very happy stomach to give one more star, even though I am still a bit grumpy because of the wait. But the servers are very nice, I imagine they are highly understaffed.
