I would be doing society a disservice by not posting this review. Don’t get bamboozled. Whoever said this is good for a solo female traveler must have been paid or had different expectations for safety. So the location is great. It’s tucked away. Super neat. The history is amazing. All the good things stop there. I felt like an inconvenience from the second I stepped in this place. I tried to make the best of the situation. However I had to transfer hotels. The room smelled dinghy. Like mildew. (I found out why) Rooms are notoriously small in Paris. Out of the three places I’ve stayed in Paris this is by far the smallest. The toilet and the shower aren’t even in the same room. The fur type blanket on the bed had white hand print stains on it… I requested a new one. Never got it or heard about it again. I finally figured out what that smell was! It’s from the extensive water damage in this hotel. The bathroom with the shower (that has a door that doesn’t close all the way) doesn’t even have a vent. When I came back from a museum visit, I found my tablet SOAKED from apparent water that either came in through the window or the wall itself. In the room with the toilet (not the shower) there isn’t even a sink. But yet there is water dripping from the walls? It genuinely smells bad. In every part of closet… I mean room. Even their own little sign has water damage indicating this is not an isolated event. The front desk is not manned 24/7 as stated or as in traditional hotels. I had to leave the hotel in the early early morning. I waited and waited for someone to come UNLOCK THE DOOR to get OUT of the hotel. By the way… this is the only exit that I am aware. Imagine if there were an emergency? The door is LOCKED. And the guy at the front desk was in the back library type room. Which is also where their breakfast is served. A tiny room with two tables. Eventually I had to just leave as I was going to be late. Bringing me to point 6. When I got back I had to ring the doorbell to even get into the hotel. It was around 530am. Many people have flights at weird hours. Etc. I was treated like an inconvenience when I finally came back. Didn’t even say a word to me. It seems as though I woke him up. They made the hotel look amazing in the pictures. It’s not. I’m a stranger on the internet I get that but I didn’t have to make this review. Keep that in mind. I genuinely don’t want your trip to Paris to be ruined. Yes great location. Cheap. But it’s terrible. Even my clothes started to smell after the first day. I felt disgusting. When I finally left and got a different hotel they stated they probably wouldn’t be able to give money back. If you do decide to move forward and stay even after reading this far at least only get one night. Or the shortest amount of time you can. I can ASSURE YOU, you will be thankful as you will be able to check out and find a place you actually want to be without threats of keeping your money. Everything everyone is saying about the air or heating system is true. I woke up DRENCHED in sweat multiple times. You don’t have to listen to me obviously, but I did try to warn you. I would not have gone to these lengths to type all of this out if it wasn’t severe. Owner: please do not try and contact me. You had no intention of fixing any issues I brought to you while I was there. At this point the ONLY rectification would be a FULL refund. Unless you have intentions of doing so, do not contact me. Period. If you’re on the fence… let this be your deciding factor. Do not continue. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: i have emailed owner and hope to rectify situation. As of 2/15, at 9pm no response from owner. Also have screenshot confirmed called and...
Read moreA long weekend in Paris is about location and this place is perfect. It's in an alley way off St Michel Notre Dame so a little quieter than on the main road but it's perfect location. You can get a direct train from the airport to St Michel Notre Dame from which its a couple of minutes walk. However, we had to cab as St Michel Notre Dame station was closed for the RER train.||All the restaurants are within walking distance and you can walk to the Louvre in about 15 minutes.||I did read some of the negative reviews and lets address some of them about the odd marks here and there in the bathroom. You will get this in many 'Parisian' style hotels but I found our room to be clean and small. Many of these hotels have tiny rooms with tiny lifts so nothing unexpected here. The breakfast area is tiny. Yes it is, this is a boutique hotel with a small lounge area for breakfast and thus limited options for breakfast. Its a small selection of pastries and deli meats. Lets be honest you will not stay at this hotel to make a holiday out of it. There are plenty of nice boulangeries around where you can have some proper croissants, etc. However, for a quick tea and a light pastry breakfast in the hotel this is fine and no issue with quality of what they served. We did have tea and some quick pastry to start on one of the days. It's 3 star because of a lack of these bigger facilities.||The room has everything you need for a quick stay. Room has a wardrobe with safe. There is a large TV and as one review commented the only English channel was BBC news. Yes, it would be nice to have one English channel showing some movies so when you get back in the evening you have something to watch. Hardly a deal breaker and you can access YouTube via the TV so you have some options. Shower was absolutely fine.||Any taxi will not be able to drop you in front of the hotel as its in an alley way, but the road is about 10m from the front door so this shouldn't be an issue. Some people might complain about rolling their luggage a few meters to the front door but this was not an issue for us.||There is a tiny lift but it's up a small flight of stairs so those with mobility issues, this might not be a good choice. I would recommend you speak to the hotel as they will look after you as best possible. I carried my luggage up to the first floor but the hotel receptionist carried my wife's luggage up. She was in the French Navy so a strong girl!||What I really loved about this hotel was the people. We had the warmest welcome and they engaged with us every day to take care of our needs. As it's a small hotel they look to engage with their guests.||I've been to Paris a few times but this is where I would stay again. It's perfect for exploring the City.||A big thank you to Lamine and Fatime for making our stay so comfortable and warm. You put a smile on our faces every time we left and got back to the...
