Two Doors Coffee-Shop — Restaurant in Paris

Had a very uncomfortable experience here as a foreigner. My two friends and I came to meet our other friend who arrived at the cafe first. She sat down ahead of making an order, as we wanted to all order together. The shopkeepers seemed to be unhappy with this and stared at us as we walked into the shop and met with our friend. One of the shopkeepers took his phone out and held it above his head seemingly taking a photo of us as we made our orders at the register. They spoke in French and laughed to each other while staring at us. We felt a bit uncomfortable after this, so all decided to sit outside, where the shopkeeper started leaning on the doorpost staring at us as we took a few photos of the coffee/pastries on the bench. Insulting. I asked for a cortado and got espresso with poor whipped milk. When approaching the desk they were not impressed by the poor coffee they have served. Only after i said it was insulting the guy was surprised and offered a new one. Which came poorly as the first. Bref. Most of the coffee which was served in the place looked fine. Highest praise to the staff - incredibly friendly and open, will speak english with you without trouble if they see you struggle with french, but also help with their mother tongue if you insist on trying 😄 The coffee shop is small but offers few places to sit, each time we went there most of them were taken which only proves it’s a great spot to visit.
