Bonjour. What to say? We booked a house with this agency through booking.com. A week before our stay commenced, we got the message that the property we rented suffered damage because of the rain.
We were offered an alternative, and were happy with the location, the size, the layout of the rooms (we needed every bedroom to have a bathroom because of medical issues of one of our family members), and the price for which it was offered to us.
When we arrived, we noticed a few things that were not the way we would expect a vacation rental to be from a well-respected agency - different from what we saw in the description online, and different from what they told us when they offered us this place:
The shower in one bedroom was unusable. It wasn’t built properly, so the water ran into the bathroom and then into bedroom after just 90 seconds of using the shower. When I notified the agency, they said there was nothing wrong with it. If we had known this beforehand, we wouldn’t have rented this property.
The toilet in another bedroom kept flushing. I also notified the agency, and they didn’t even acknowledge my feedback (which is strange, because I even gave the employee one of the key sets to come in and check on this).
The kitchen is very nice, but a lot of appliances and utensils were missing. Thankfully, they fixed most of this on day 3 of our 4 day stay, but grudgingly: “What’s in the property is what’s in the property. We’re not responsible for supplying the things that are not there.” Really, also in a property that is rented out as a fully equipped place?
We couldn’t get the heaters to work in any of the bedrooms. Because the agency didn’t really seem too happy to help us, we didn’t bother to approach them about this anymore. Thankfully we managed with the temperature, because it was warm for the time of the year. Also, there was a working gas heater in the living room, so we weren’t cold there.
Overall, the place we had is in a great location and has a great size. But we have a real bad aftertaste of the customer service of this agency.
As a Airbnb host myself, I want to make sure my guests feel like I am taking them seriously when they give me feedback (and yes, there are the occasional guests that make it real hard for you - I don’t think I am being that guest here 😅). Having stayed in this property with this agency doesn’t make me feel like I have been taken seriously and their property just has serious issues that can be fixed pretty easily IF they would take feedback like mine seriously.
Hence my 2 star rating. It would have been a 1 star rating if it hadn’t been for the location and the price. It would have been a 3 or 4 star rating if I felt I had been taken seriously.
To Aux Clefs des Sacres: please don’t comment and say that you didn’t find my name in your files. We even saw each other face to face.
Good luck and bonne journée!
Update 8 Nov 2024: the company charged our credit card for another 150 euro without letting us know what it was for. They did this yesterday, on 7 Nov 2024. I didn't even know that they were able to do this when I called the credit card company.
When I complained about the charge with Aux Clefs des Sacres, I got a whole nasty tirade of messages on WhatsApp of things we supposedly broke in the apartment, and that that was reason why they charged us the extra 150 euro. We didn't break anything.

Read morePlease be aware of this agency, as they cancelled our Airbnb booking less than 48 hours before the arrival date, without any explanation or personal notification.
When asked for the explanation, the host first tells that the previous guests had done significant damage to the property so it needs to be repaired. And that they send me a message on my phone. I did not receive any message on my phone, and Airbnb states that all communication needs to go via the platform.
After my reply to their "explanation" they suddenly come up with another reason, and the reason is that they doubted the reason of my stay and again had send me messages asking me for the reason. (I did not receive any message on my phone, and Airbnb states that all communication needs to go via the platform). Thus, the damage reason was a made up reason.. But the "reason" explanation is a made up reason as well. I send them a question regarding a parking space last Sunday and they answered, without questioning the reason of my stay (if they really questioned that, they would also ask me it in their reply I assume). Besides that why should they question my stay in the first place... I have a good guest-rating on Airbnb..
The tone used by the host was very hostile, he had no reason to be like that. I had, because they cancelled my booking less than 48 hours and now have the trouble finding a new place to stay.
I took screenshots of the conversation, because I see replies on reviews here where they tend to put something on the complainer in stead of taking responsibility for their own actions and behavior.
They blocked the messages by the way and even called me via an anonymous phone number, but said stuff in French which I cannot understand
Details of the listing: Reims : Le Yellow'Loft ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Proche hyper-centre ⭐️⭐️⭐️
== == == Edited after reply from Aux Clefs des Sacres stating that they have no reservation from me nor my name is in their system.
As I already expected based on the way they reply to previous reviews from others, they try to put it on me instead of taking responsibility.
I have some screenshots with proof of my reservation and the reply from this agency Aux Clefs des Sacres. Plus a screenshot of their own website where you can just find this particular listing. Google will not let...

We booked a room with them weeks in advance. Paid in full instantly. Got a confirmation message, reservation number, booking.com confirmation, visa confirmation of payment and message of them telling us we could collect the keys at their adres the night when we arrive.
We drive 4h to Reims and arrive at 19h00 in the evening as agreed upon to pick up the keys and they say they never got my booking or information.
They apparently kept the room open for rent at a higher price at airbnb after I booked it on booking and when someone booked it on airbnb for a higher price they just decided to rent it to them and not let us know anything until we arrived.
So when we arrived they acted like their noses were bleeding and said ‘its not our problem, its booking’s problem. call them, we never got your booking or information, we never heard your name. Theres nothing we can do. Bye.’
After calling booking they confirm everything worked as it should have and they tell me to demand a cancellation there (so they can’t lie afterwards that we didn’t show up and refuse to refund our money). When he went into their booking platform to request the refund, it accidentally showed my name and all my booking information/confirmation on his screen right in front of me… he panicked but acted like it wasn’t there. I said ‘huh my reservation info is right there’ and he replied ‘LOOK AND NOW I CANCELLED IT’ and wouldn’t speak to me any further.
We were stranded at the side of the road and it took us until 21h30 to find a new room to stay the night at twice the price because everything was fully booked and all restaurants were now closed by the time we checked in. What was supposed to be a nice holiday will now be celebrated with a kebab at 22h after being scammed out of a room we booked with 0 communication, regret or solutions. I hope people don’t support these kind...
