Quite good bistro food. We arrived late on a Sunday night when only a small number of the local restaurants are even open so this was an ideal choice. Close to our hotel and they really do a lovely job on traditional French dishes. Rich food with out an extremely high price tag, although you are going to pay a little more for the prime main drag location. We had escargot and a large salad to start (it was the largest salad weāve seen yet to date in France and what our bodies needed after all the cheese tours!). Mains were champagne mussels and the chicken roti/Normandy. The chicken was a small (1leg and thigh portion) but god was it cooked perfectly and honestly, we were full afterwards (however, I think mostly because of the giant salad also with chicken on it. You may want to order more if youāre a the big eater). The single glass coupes were delicious (one Pommery and then one āhouseā and both were lovely) and we enjoyed our beautiful evening outside with our dog at our feet. Would try other restaurants personally only because there are many others, but Iād certainly send...

The service was truly impressive, featuring knowledgeable staff who provided excellent recommendations that enhanced our meal. We savored the local Champagne, which paired wonderfully with our dishes.
The menu included a flavorful Steak Rossini and burgers with a distinct French twist. Portion sizes were just right, satisfying without overwhelming. For dessert, the kids thoroughly enjoyed a Nutella crepe, while I indulged in a perfectly made Irish coffee.
Le Gaulois stands out for its combination of great food, attentive service, and enjoyable ambiance. Itās a perfect spot for families or anyone looking to enjoy classic French dishes with a touch of local charm. Highly recommended for a relaxed and tasty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had dinner at Brasserie Le Gaulois twice during our three nights in Reims and our only regret was not coming here on the off night. Service was prompt and efficient, and all the food came out with good timing.
The menu is large and has quite a few items aimed at tourists who might be looking for "not French" food. Do yourself a favor and order the traditional French dishes. My coq au vin was the best I've ever had. The pate en croute was light and tasty. My beef bourguignon was tender enough to cut with my fork.
Seating inside was a little tight but I can't blame them for getting as many people in as possible. If the weather is nice they have plenty of outdoor seating. Cigarette smoke was a bit of a bother but that's probably on me as a visiting American.
If I ever come back to Reims you can bet I'll be back...
